If you sneeze and there is no one around to hear it, do you excuse yourself?

While sitting in a rather lonely state on a slow night at work, I sneezed, and although there was no one to hear it, I said "Bless Me" Realizing the conflict in the situation led me to contemplate the necessity of this act. So naturally I want to know what others do...

drdt	posted 15-Dec-1999 6:12pm I excuse myself whether or not anyone is around, unless someone beats me to it. Of course I don't say 'bless me' I say 'excuse me'. But my sneezes are pretty disruptive and I think no one blesses me because they are too busy picking up papers off the floor.

Mozluvr	posted 21-Dec-1999 4:04am Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't... Actually, a lot of the time I get out of the habit, but when people start excusing me I get back into it... I usually say "Bless Me", but I do "Excuse" myself often...

jzp	posted 29-Dec-1999 8:31pm excusing myself for sneezing is an alien concept. why ould 'blessing' someone be 'excusing', anyway? that's a pretty weird connection, if you ask me.
