| Pam | posted 1-Apr-1998 3:17pm '89 VW Golf.. It's great. My first car and I bet it all with my own money. *beams proudly* |
| Dolemite | posted 1-Apr-1998 3:55pm If I had a car, it'd be Japanese. It's just that in consumer reports the recalls for domestics are like: "please return to dealer immediately, car could explode spontaneously upon ignition." While the recalls for Japanese vehicles are usually: "please return car to dealer, floor mat may become threadbare upon wiping feet." |
| loche | posted 1-Apr-1998 4:33pm if i had a car i would want a 1960's Ferrari... |
| milktree | posted 1-Apr-1998 5:48pm very happy |

| Twanger | posted 1-Apr-1998 7:54pm I don't own/drive a car, so I picked none. |
| steve | posted 1-Apr-1998 8:37pm No car! Where's the "No car" answer? |
| Jaime | posted 2-Apr-1998 2:34am I checked German, but it's not really true. I drive a Seat, a spanish car (the only one spanish car), but now it is practically a VW, bcos it mounts a high number of VW pieces. In fact, the only one spanish part of it is the bodywork. For the rest, even the screwdriver included is VW!! But, IMHO, this is a good thing: I've it for 2 years and have no one problem yet. |
| KP | posted 2-Apr-1998 5:49am I drive a vauxhall nova which is german. It gets me from A to B. Interestingly, when they tried to sell it in Spanish-speaking countries, they realised that "no va" means "doesn't go". |
| Timmi | posted 2-Apr-1998 10:54am I cannot begin to tell you how satisfied I am with my car. It's one of the better things in my life. (1991 Mazda Miata [MX-5 for you non-US/Canadians]) |
| presti | posted 2-Apr-1998 11:36am not sure where they make Mazada. |
| hunter | posted 2-Apr-1998 1:42pm I love my Camry. My last car was a Tercel that was still running at age 14 when I left it on the East Coast. So I bought another and have every expectation I'll be driving it when I turn forty. |

| miyu | posted 12-Apr-1998 7:26pm I like small cars. |
| dab | posted 14-Apr-1998 12:53pm Dodge pickup. The only thing really bad is that it developed a leak that let the rain inside, the carpet mildewed, and I can't get the smell out. |
| Tonya | posted 16-Apr-1998 6:54am Love my Chevy S-10 |

| Mark | posted 4-May-1998 3:15pm My favourite general purpose car is a pre-1994 Saab 900 Turbo 3-door. I own two ('92 & '89). Don't much care for the later models, though, and am not sure what I will get when it comes time to replace one. I may try a Saturn next. |
| lelle | posted 14-May-1998 10:04am 1985 Volvo 245 turbo. I'm very happy with it. |
| truss | posted 14-May-1998 11:17am Proud member of the Saturn Cult (1998 Saturn SL2). *** Atzilut: 1985 Celebrities RULE! Err... well... ok, they don't rule at all, but I have very fond memories of the one I owned in '93-'94 (my first car), anyway. :) |
| daver | posted 14-May-1998 11:37am All of my cars have been badged as American but were actually Japanese. My bike is Japanese and my sidecar's Czech, I think. |
| reality | posted 19-May-1998 12:28pm 1989 Dodge Caravan. I am pretty satisfied with it (though I gotta figure out where I am leaking coolant and replace the appropriate gasket/hose). |

| daver | posted 5-Dec-1998 4:43pm Woohoo, I just got a new car! This one's the first american car I've ever owned. It's big, rusted, and made by a tractor company. I'm happy with it. |
| bill | posted 5-Dec-1998 4:47pm daver, you may want to look up "new" in the dictionary. |
| daver | posted 5-Dec-1998 5:05pm **bill: It's new to me. |

| eris | posted 28-May-1999 9:05pm I drive a VW Golf and I LOVE it. Fahrvergnugen! |
| mandy | posted 1-Jul-1999 5:52pm I am very satisfied with the way it performed when I crashed it. It crumpled perfectly. and the seatbelts sucked us tight and kept us from being smashed against the dash and windshield. I think if we had been driving anything less sturdy we would have been seriously injured or maybe even killed. |
| Renee | posted 14-Aug-1999 4:57am FORD!!!Taurus 92...but i want a 64 1/2 mustang or a 67 Impala |
| mandy | posted 14-Aug-1999 8:39pm I now have another Ford. A first generation Probe GL. I'm in love with my car. Got a feel for my automobile. |

| daver | posted 28-Oct-1999 9:27am Hmmm, this survey pops up just when I find myself with another car. This one's little, red, cute, Swedish, and older than I am. Can I interest any SC denizens in a tiger-striped Montero, an ancient Scout II, or a sidecar? **Wicksy: I don't think matchbox cars count. |
| Wicksy | posted 28-Oct-1999 10:14am sorry daver, don't smoke! |
