What would you think?

I'd think something else .............. either the woman had a bad back, some physical ailment or she had extra long finger nails, because I have seen this, something like paper or coins and have been asked to place this in the womans hands because with her nails she couldn't pick them up

It is possible that although she looks healthy, she really isn't. She could have back problems, or kidney stones, or bad knees, or difficulty with balance.

If I didn't know her, I wouldn't think anything of it. I would also pick it up for her.

If I did know her, and I knew she was healthy, I might ask her if her arms are broken.

I would think the person that says "lazy and helpless" are rude. Perhaps her clothing is too tight, can't bend down. Perhaps she can't bend down. or perhaps the item is too heavy for her to lift? Nonetheless, the person is rude. Perhaps she's trying to attract a certain gentleman?

The person had a point.

I think I am too busy with my own life to care.

I would assume there is a reason she is asking for help. I wouldn't give it much thought.

I'd wonder if there was some other, hidden reason why she couldn't get it herself.

I'd be disapppointed that I didn't get to see this healthy looking young adult female bend over.

unless she had on some sort of restrictive clothes or something, i would think it strange!

Regardless of what I thought of the young woman, I would probably think the person berating her was a jerk. It's rude to berate anyone.

I'd think 'Is this a Wittgensteinian language game or a LindaH survey?' I'd try and assess the situation as well as possible given the (no) context, and probably start waking up. When you're lucid dreaming, and start to wake up, you're meant to physically spin in your bed. I don't think I'd bother.

I would give the benefit of the doubt and pick it up. There might be something unseen that makes it difficult for her to pick it up (e.g., back or hip problem)

I'd think she would have something on her mind other than just being polite.

I'd wonder if maybe she had some disability that wasn't visibly obvious.

I would think there must be some reason. She is either wearing a short skirt, has a false leg or is slightly OCD and cannot touch anything dirty i.e. the floor. Or maybe she just wanted to start up a conversation with the cute guy who picked it up for her.

That is probably why she didn't bend over. She probably didn't want anyone to check her butt as she bent down.

I think she is lazy and needs to be taken down a peg or two.

So, I've been waiting to hear the story of how this survey came about.... but it hasn't happened yet. Please tell!

I was just thinking about 'hidden' disabilities or extreme pain, and how some people judge based on appearances or assume laziness.

I gave the idea for this scenario to a TV show. They take submitted ideas into consideration. I got a reply. I hope they use it.
