Well, I think I'm going to make sure I get them checked every year..you know, if I decide to wear them in the ocean again.

I don't think they're going to change too much anymore though..Not until I hit my 40s or so. I don't even remember what my prescription is...but it's bad. It's a running joke that I can't see anything. "Did you see that? Oh..wait, you can't."

Every 2 years or so. I should get them tested more often, as my eyesight is dramatically worse each time. However, glasses for me are very expensive (lenses alone run $350+) - I can only afford to buy a new pair about every 2 years. So I just get my eyes checked just before I buy new glasses.

It had been once a year or so, but I got them fixed so I think it will be less now. The appointments had been automatic (made by the doctor). Also, that doctor left town, so I'm not sure but I think they will move me to someone else now. I'm in a indefinite period, so it's hard to answer.

It's supposed to be once a year, but I actually go closer to every 18 months because I procrastinate after getting the reminder letter. I was supposed to go just before Christmas, but it's unlikely that I'll get around to it until Easter now, even though my sight really seems to have deteriorated.

Seldom. I had my eyes test towards the end of the '90's because of headaches. They were fine. And I had my eyes tested in 2006 when it appeared (correctly) that Claire needed glasses. We went together to the optometrist.

I had my eyes tested once, back when OHIP did cover eye examinations.

I'd go again if I had insurance because sometimes I see blurry from my left eye. Other than that, my vision is better than perfect.

I knew someone who had it done and she got dry socket from it and now has to use eyedrops constantly because her eye no longer produces tears. So I am scared to do it.

The procedure is pretty disturbing too. They cut a flap on your eye, peel it back, then zap it under it with a laser... while you lay there, eyes held open, trying not to jerk your head away because it's freaky. Just a couple minutes for the whole thing, though. And, it's great not needing glasses. Though, I'll soon need reading glasses because I'm getting old.

now I am horrified. Maybe lots of valium will help make it bearable?

Once every other year, which is how often my insurance will cover it.

Only when I need to, which is once every year or two. It's been a little longer this time (three years, I think?), but I'm finally noticing that I need a new prescription.
