| they | posted 3-Dec-2009 10:44am No. I would get excited about a jumbo pack of toilet paper at this point. |
| dpurdy33 | posted 3-Dec-2009 10:58am Hard yeah cause I never know what I want |
| TeddyMiller | posted 3-Dec-2009 11:03am I have a wish list on Amazon.com, so people know what presents I want. Without that, they'd know the type of thing, books and movies and so on, but could buy something I already have. |
| Galomorro | posted 3-Dec-2009 11:11am Sometimes. People, except for one good friend, don't have any clue as to what I like. I'm so not like other people in many ways. He knows because I talk to him more about stuff I like. Others just assume. |
| bill | posted 3-Dec-2009 1:06pm I don't know. Sort of, I guess. I think my wife has trouble thinking of stuff to get me. Though, I think I'm pretty good at being gracious about gifts regardless. Mostly, I've discouraged people from getting me gifts (by not giving them gifts either). I think most of the people I know think it's all a bit silly at this point. Or, maybe they just think I'm a stick in the mud, so they skip over me. Bah humbug. I could do a little rant about how absurd the consumerist Xmas gift giving thing is, but I'll hold my tongue. |
| dab | posted 3-Dec-2009 2:15pm I am rarely unsatisfied with what I get because I don't expect anything. |
| labjog | posted 3-Dec-2009 6:16pm Not at all. I dont think I have ever disliked something I have recieved. I think I'm that way because my mom would tell you if she didnt like something, I had my feelings hurt more than once. I would never do that to someone. |
| Iseult | posted 3-Dec-2009 6:39pm No, I'm generally happy with what ever I get. But I also have this tendency to tell people exactly what I want so that there's not confusion.
My mum is absolutely the worst person to buy gifts for. She never likes anything. My sister stopped buying her presents, but I still try. |
| they | (reply to Galomorro) posted 3-Dec-2009 7:39pm For you, I would take a nice black and white of one of the cooler city stairways in Cincinnati and frame it. I'd also get you a nice plant..... maybe an indoor dwarf orange tree. |
| Galomorro | (reply to they) posted 3-Dec-2009 8:00pm Now THOSE would be much appreciated! Thanx for the thought! |
| Richard47 | posted 3-Dec-2009 8:09pm No, a present is a present. Am I hard to buy for? That would require the opinions of others, not necessarily me. |

| they | (reply to Galomorro) posted 3-Dec-2009 8:28pm I wish my friends and family were as easy to buy for!! |

| Galomorro | (reply to they) posted 3-Dec-2009 10:08pm Well, everyone appreciates gift cards -- how 'bout from one of their favorite stores? |
| Iseult | (reply to labjog) posted 4-Dec-2009 7:46am Definitely.
My dad's the complete opposite. He'd be happy with thread tied around a stick. |
| FordGuy | posted 4-Dec-2009 9:32am Nah. |
| Enheduanna | posted 4-Dec-2009 10:32am I don't think so. It's not that a present is a present but that there are just lots of readily available things that I like. |
| fbnwwua | posted 4-Dec-2009 6:41pm i'm an easy woman to please...as long as you thought about me thats all that matters :) |
| they | (reply to Galomorro) posted 5-Dec-2009 4:50pm > Well, everyone appreciates
> gift cards -- how 'bout from > one of their favorite stores? Gift cards are great later, but they aren't instant gratification. You can't sit around on Xmas and tinker around with a gift card. Part of the fun of Xmas for me is after everything is opened, you can sit around and open things up, read instructions, put on decals, etc. Also, I have very little money to spend, and parents who worry if I spend a lot. I prefer to keep what I spent private... So I always get gift cards as a last resort. |
| Galomorro | (reply to they) posted 5-Dec-2009 9:21pm Ahhhh. I see. |
| cloudhugger | posted 6-Dec-2009 11:43am I feign baby. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 6-Dec-2009 12:41pm Nope... 20's, 50's and 100's gladly accepted. |
| fbwezkg | posted 6-Dec-2009 10:46pm I'm pretty easy to shop for as long as you know what things I am picky about. The only times I get WTF? gifts is when you can tell the people only thought of their own personal taste rather than the gift recipient's taste. |
| LindaH | posted 7-Dec-2009 12:00pm I don't even know what to buy for my own self, so probably. |
| Lahdee | (reply to LindaH) posted 9-Dec-2009 6:49pm > I don't even know what to buy for my own

| LindaH | (reply to Lahdee) posted 9-Dec-2009 9:50pm I don't see anyone buying me that, so it doesn't count. |
| ASB | posted 17-Dec-2009 5:42pm I don't think so but maybe. |
| mandy | posted 29-Dec-2009 4:33pm no....no....no..... |
