Mom made soft cookies, and I am imprinted on them

If from scratch then crunchy and slightly burnt.

Soft, but not so soft that they just fall apart. The best cookies can be found at Mrs. Field's or somewhere similar.

Usually soft, but it depends on the cookie.

Soft, and if they aren't soft, I soak them in milk until they practically disintegrate.

I like soft cookies unless they're homemade sugar cookies.

middle, the extremes are icky, but a crunchy outside with a softer inside is pretty good.

Crunchy makes too much mess and reminds me of stale bread.

soft - i like them baked and tender better than raw unless it's raw cookie dough ice cream. but i don't like them all crunchy where they're stuck in my teeth for the rest of the day and i keep poking at them with my tongue or feel like i just have to brush my teeth right IMMEDIATELY after i eat a cookie because if i don't i'm gonna keep poking between my teeth with my tongue only i'm really uncoordinated inside my mouth, maybe if i practiced in front of a mirror or something but this thing always happens where there's like something stuck between my teeth and i'm trying to get it loose and i just not only can i just not get it out but i cannot even find the damned thing, i eventually stick my finger in my mouth to try to unlodge it (the thing that's stuck, not my finger or my mouth) but my fingertips cannot locate what is all too obvious to my tongue and i keep trying to dislodge it tongue-wise and eventually probably get it, at least i've never failed yet though at times it's required like really intense effort on my part. and crunchy cookies remind me all too much of this whole thing, so i prefer soft. Bill, we really need larger edit boxes...

Soft, chewey, and chocolate. The more chocolate the better! Sorry, Dolemite, but I make much better cookies than Mrs. Fields! *** romkey - I like your reply!

how about yes. C^3(chocolate chip cookies for the uninitiated) are best fresh and soft from the oven. Oreos are good, and better when made mushy by dunking in milk. Do-si-dos (girl scout peanut butter/oatmeal cookies) are crunchy, and very yummy. Same for thin mints.

I generally like 'em somewhat crunchy, but there's a BIG difference between just-out-of-the-oven warm soft cookies (which I do like) and the weird chemically stays-soft-forever frankencookies which you often get in the stores or the malls (which I don't like).

***Bill: I was going to do this survey today, but thanks to the search feature, I don't have to!

It depends on the kind of cookies, I guess... I chose 'crunchy', because I tend to prefer the sorts of cookies that are crunchy, like shortbread and oat lace cookies. I like oatmeal raisin cookies to be chewy though.
***glen: frankencookies! New favourite word. :)
