| LindaH | posted 29-Oct-2009 8:24pm I don't care how a food looks. I care how it smells. Some of the yummiest foods look gross. |
| mandy | posted 29-Oct-2009 8:48pm Bring it! |
| bill | posted 29-Oct-2009 8:50pm generally no |
| Crayons | posted 29-Oct-2009 11:19pm Well, my mom left some of grandma's cooking in the fridge and it resembled vomit, but it tasted great. If my grandma made it, yes. Otherwise, not sure. |
| coffee5437 | posted 30-Oct-2009 12:34am I am not adventurous in my eating habits, NEVER eat things I cannot identify and will not eat disgusting looking food. |
| cprasky | posted 30-Oct-2009 10:09pm It really depends on just how disgusting it looks. I'll try almost anything once. But I cannot bring myself to sample the sea cucumber at sushi bars. We once had one in our home aquarium in Puerto Rico when my mother was a Cub Scout den mother. Those things look like a big turd floating in the water... |
| Richard47 | posted 31-Oct-2009 7:24pm It is hard for me to really think of a food that would look disgusting...except if it were a dead animal dish with the head still attached to it....monkey brains or some cow parts, maybe...If it isn't that (too gross) then I will try it. I do not usually experiment with new food though. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 1-Nov-2009 11:03am A definite maybe. Depends on how hungry I am and what is in the glop. |
| risingroad | posted 1-Nov-2009 12:30pm I eat pages of seaweed for my thyroid. Don't need my meds anymore. More people go "Eeewwww" until they try it then sort of say, "Not bad". Dad had me trying raw oysters, limburger cheese (smelly), octopus, calves brains and tongue (though I feel bad for the octopus and calves now). When I saw "Shipping News" I remembered as a little girl Dad was stationed in New Foundland so I asked Mom if I ate Seal Flipper Pie and she said "Yes". Yikes! Though she wouldn't eat it now. I love Kim-chee (sp?). |
| Enheduanna | posted 1-Nov-2009 3:41pm Depends on what's in them, if they're healthy, how hungry I am and what mood I'm in. |
| gambler | posted 1-Nov-2009 5:32pm Depends on my mood.......... I am more inclined to eat something if it doesnt look like what it was.
I love the taste of Cow Tongue and it looks nice sliced, but when you see it before cutting its a bit............ewww |
| they | posted 1-Nov-2009 9:47pm M...... Prolly not.
Thanks though. |
| rustygirl50 | posted 2-Nov-2009 8:57am I don't think so. |
| LuridHope | posted 3-Nov-2009 11:27am Uni and century egg are some of the stranger things I've tried. |
| AnAnde04 | posted 3-Nov-2009 11:44pm Depends... I won't eat penis of any animal. I won't eat anything with feces in it, and I won't bugs or worms. I've already gotten a pretty good repertoire of bizarre foods behind me. I love trying new things. |
| AnAnde04 | (reply to cprasky) posted 3-Nov-2009 11:47pm Cprasky, you're awesome! So many people are afraid to try things just because they look weird or sound too different. I'm with you on this. I'll try almost anything once. |
| cprasky | posted 4-Nov-2009 7:38am I'm told I take after my father, who was always interested in trying new things. Everyone else in my family, both sides, are weird about trying things. |
| Biggles | posted 8-Nov-2009 12:33pm If they aren't meat or alcohol. |
| autumnlight | posted 9-Nov-2009 5:28pm Always. Some of my favourite foods don't look fantastic. |
