| cerealkiller | posted 29-Oct-2009 2:31pm There are still newspapers?
There is a free local rag that comes out once a week. I read the police reports and other scandalous junk. Takes about 5 minutes. Only thing I like about it is the Sudoku puzzle. I get all my "real" news from internet sources. |
| bill | posted 29-Oct-2009 3:16pm I said I don't, but I suppose I do read an occasional article online if someone links it and it sounds interesting. Or, if I go searching and find something like that. I assume you were talking about printed paper newspapers and I almost never read those. I've always had a big aversion to the ink getting on my fingers. I tend to get my news through indirect sources. I really prefer to learn about things months later by watching a documentary video about them. |
| Galomorro | posted 29-Oct-2009 3:26pm Daily or almost daily. I get the local free newspaper online. Sometimes it doesn't show up until the next day. |
| Enheduanna | posted 29-Oct-2009 4:00pm I read it online daily. |

| Iseult | posted 29-Oct-2009 5:32pm Once every four to six months. |
| Richard47 | posted 29-Oct-2009 8:12pm In Boston, we have a publication called "The Metro", which is an abridged version of our daily newspaper. It's a quick read on the subway. Hundreds of copies everywhere, everyday. Saturday...no newspaper. Sunday...a leisurely morning read. |
| LJD | posted 31-Oct-2009 9:47am On occasion...the paper is too liberal for me. I cancelled my paper a few months ago, and we still receive it. |

| they | (reply to bill) posted 1-Nov-2009 10:25pm I used to hate folding papers for my paper route.
I can't stand inky fingers either. Also, the texture of newspaper is horrid. |
| bill | (reply to they) posted 2-Nov-2009 5:44am My first job (when I was 15, I think) was stuffing Sunday papers. It was a dirty job. At the end of the day, we'd blow our noses and it was black. |
| coffee5437 | posted 2-Nov-2009 1:27pm "I don't read the newspaper.
"I will read pieces if it see a paper laying somewhere & it catches my eye but I was never taught the value in it. I think the media doesn't know much about what they blah, blah, blah about from my experience. |
| Biggles | posted 5-Nov-2009 7:54pm I rarely read an actual newspaper, but I frequently read online newspaper articles - daily if I have internet access. |
| Biggles | (reply to they) posted 5-Nov-2009 7:57pm For some reason, I have in my head that newspaper ink is a common cause of incorrect blood sugar monitoring (contaminated fingerprick sampling). I'm sure I must have got that from somewhere, but I might have just made it up! |
| they | (reply to Biggles) posted 6-Nov-2009 10:38am That's interesting.
Now you have me wondering what the hell newspaper ink is made out of. |
