5. Athletics

I don't get to see much in the way of American Football and Baseball, as they're only minority sports in global terms and I don't live in the US. Having said that, I think I'd like Baseball if I got the chance to see it more often. I've rated Cricket top out of personal preference (it's the one I play, rather than just watch), but if I was being more objective I'd rate Football (Soccer) highest.

vos- I know. It's becoming more popular though, especially among girls, which is cool. America is finally beginning to catch on. ;)

SueBee: sure we do, but here they don't wear padding or helmets, they just tape back their ears so they don't get ripped off :)

I'm not much of an athlete, but I actually enjoy soccer and lacrosse.

I pretty much hate all sports...at least all of the ones mentioned above...

I like going to professional baseball games. They're so much fun!!!

Mariah - I like the warm peanuts at the baseball stadium! I guess I better go try out the new stadium in Seattle and make sure the peanuts are as good as they were in the Kingdome. I suppose mandy won't go since Griffey left Seattle. (She only liked him for his cute butt. )

SueBee: I'm honestly not sure :) *Some* players wear tape around their head (definitely not all, but definitely a noticeable quantity), and I think it is to tape back their ears, but I'd have to ask someone more knowledgeable to be sure. I don't really follow much sport :)

To watch or to play? My answers would be very different!!! To watch: Figure skating; To do: Windsurfing.

I would rate Tennis and Australian Rules Football above any of these sports. By Hockey, do you mean Ice or Field Hockey????? This survey has really shocking options.

natsim: Which tennis players do you like. How do you rate Sampras as a player?

Wicksy: You know, I enjoy tennis, but I don't really follow it. I did see Sampras play once, and I got annoyed with him because he was very arrogant and unsportsmanlike. He was playing against someone who was obviously not as good as him, and instead of making the game fun (like some great tennis players will do, by making trick shots) he just slammed the other player. I think there's more to being a good player than winning. It was a huge contrast between him and Pat Rafter who also played against a much worse player, but was a really good sport about it.
I haven't had a TV for the last 2 years, so I'm a bit behind on tennis. We used to have a major tennis tournament in the town I'm living in, but it disappeared so I didn't see any last Summer. I'd like to see Philippousis play sometime. And I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never seen women's tennis live.

natsim: I donīt agree with you. Sampras is a real pro and doesnīt give away presents. He never wants his opponent to even have the thought of coming back into the game.
Besides that, an opponent would be insulted if he notices Sampras is giving away points or a set just because he feels sorry. And as these guys are playing long tournaments theyīd rather win 6-0, 6-2, 6-1 in 58 minutes than giving away points and sets just to make the opponent feel good, or to make the crowd happy.

I rated them according to how much I enjoy playing them, and along with watching them.

I really only like gymnastics and ice skating. Hockey and basketball- it goes too fast and I can follow. Soccer/football guys spin around on the ground pretending they are hurt and they look stupid. Baseball is slow. I like Little League baseball though.

I don't watch any of these sports so I'm not knowledgable enough.
