I don't think there is just one ideal. I can see how being "too" short might be an issue, but most women are not 'too' short.

Ideal height...is there one? I don't know. I'm 5'3".

Not so tall that they bump their heads all the time. Not so short that people trip over them.

Anywhere between 5 and 6 feet.

As I'm a 5'11" woman I think that's perfect, but then again most folks don't find that appealing.

There is no ideal, but under 5'-2 is too short and over 5'-8 is too tall, at least to me.

FOR ME I guess what my wife is 5ft 7-8" though I have dated shorter girls and without being an Ass, we are all the same horizontal

6' would work for me. Anything from 5'10 - 6'6" I suppose (chin on a shoulder range).

At least 5'7. Anything shorter and it makes me uncomfortable.

But not taller than me. Women who are taller than me feel like competition and intimidate me because I'm not used to looking up to women (physically, not figuratively) when I'm speaking to them.
