I set my alarm clock and then wake up one minute before the alarm goes off.

I seem to have an internal clock (similar to what dab said), but I don't trust it. I'm just not in the habit of getting up at a specific time, though I usually (naturally?) get up early, sometimes very early. So, I'd set an alarm. But, yeah, I'd likely get up before it goes off. And, I may not sleep so well, knowing I'm suppose to get up. I might get out of bed, but usually not. I never use snooze or wake up calls or someone else though.

i set my alarm and wake up.......... if the set time is 0630 or after, i can get up without an alarm most of the time.

I would probably have a restless night, and then go into a deep sleep in the small hours, and then struggle to get up after having repeatedly hit the snooze button. Once up though, I'd be fine after a short while of wandering around like a zombie.

I set my alarm clock but usually wake up 5-10 minutes before it goes off, and get up.

I constantly wake up during the night, afraid I will oversleep

I'll probably put my cellphone away from the bed so I physically have to get up and turn it off.

When I had to be at work at 5am, I would hit the snooze quite a few times. The other alarm clock across the room I would only hit snooze once or twice.

I set my alarm and wake up when it goes off. I wouldn't snooze because if I'm getting up at 4:00 a.m., I sure as hell didn't set the clock extra early in order to give myself some extra snooze time. I probably have to be up for something important. It's possible that I've woken up several times in the night because I'm nervous about being late for whatever it is. I will also be groggy and tired for the entire day. However, if I'm just waking up at my normal (later, non-4:00 a.m.) time, and if I have nothing pressing to get to, then I will often snooze for anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, assuming I don't wake up before the alarm.

Should have been multi-pick. Set the alarm, hit snooze a few times, struggle to get up. Also wake up during the night afraid I'll oversleep. When it is critical to get up when I first get into bed I repeat over and over for 5 minutes "I have to get up when the alarm goes off." It usually works.

I get up to an alarm clock and I am groggy but it only lasts a few minutes. Setting an alarm clock for 4am means going to bed at 8pm (that is the difficult part)

I wake up at 6:10 AM already. I usually just lay there for 15 minutes, sort of like hitting snooze. I suppose I could do that for 4:00 as well.

I don't even go to bed till 6am.
Not a chance I'll even attempt sleeping if this is something I need to do.

However, let's say it's 10am, and I do have a chance of getting in some sleep, I'll set every radio alarm and stereo timer in the house, consider sleeping, but again, if it's something important, probably stay up the whole night preparing anyhow.

Cell phone? I've discovered that just the clock radio I sleep an hour through every day can be heard from half a block away. I'm sure my neighbors love that. At least it's in the afternoon.

My routine option, not sleeping, isn't even listed here.

Besides, when I do have to wake so early, it's usually to visit family, so being quite tired by 10pm from not having slept the night before helps put me on their day schedule.

I used to be able to sleep without any problem. I said set alarm but in reality I have an internal clock any more. I would set the alarm just in case I were so lucky to sleep on until the appointed time.

I don't sleep well, not only out of fear of oversleeping, but usually also with some anxiety regarding my reason for getting up so early (usu. for a flight for a business trip)

If it is a one-off thing, I set the alarm. If it is an every day thing, my brain gets used to the schedule and eventually I don't need an alarm.

I set my alarm clock and get up. I like to have a back up alarm, but rarely need it. Usualy, but not dependable is my internal clock. it works pretty good, but like I said, not dependable.

I set my alarm for 3:15am, hitting the snooze button at least 4 times, before getting up at 3:50am to make a coffee so that by 4am I'm as awake as the kind of normal person who can set their alarm at 4am and then wake up immediately (as if this is the most natural thing in the world).
