Which is less probable, fiction or your real life.

By probable I refer to the directed-by-God sort of coincidences that authors are often criticized for as being unbelievably improbable, for instance some one showing up coincidentally with a truck when you need to move or having a stranger forewarn you of some upcoming concern. The movie equivalent might be a motorcycle with the keys left in it during a chase sequence.

So again, I'm referring to things which could generally happen, not space ships or swamp monsters, or even the rare Zodiac killers.

I feel like an improbable person in terms of just, how I am. I feel like some kind of chosen one, sometimes, like I have a potential. You know what I'm saying? That I'm not probable myself, not to stroke my ego or anything, not that I don't enjoy a good ego stroke like anyone else.

"Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't." - Mark Twain

...I had a little trouble with this since I think that I equate life and probably. That is, life is the epitome of what is probable. But, fiction is not.

Depends on the fiction.

Real life is more bizarre and coincidental than fiction for me.

Two days ago was a standard example. We had a new neighbor move in the building, so after nearly two years I decided it was time to sweep up the pile of glass in the alley by the gate, and stop relying on a 'barefoot glass walking' spell. Two hours later I end up witnessing some guys drop a mirrored display case out the back of their pick-up in the same spot.

Not 100% sure that I understand this question but I suppose they run about the same, I guess (??)

Bill's Twain quote summed up the subject well. I'm sort of grumbling that fiction runs much more mundane, less preposterous than real life, yet calls itself fiction.

Once I read your example about the glass, Kristal, I understood the question much more. You come up with the best examples!
