Do you get offended when people reject food or drink that you're offering?

I'm not talking about when people are squimish about eating the food that you've made or think whatever drink you're offering is not drinkable, but when people refuse because they're coy or don't want to inconvenience you.

Of course not! Usually people offer food or a beverage to be polite and it is part of our social culture. But why on earth would I be offended if someone was not hungry or thirsty?

If I really like the food, I'm happy. If it is something I do not like and nobody wants it.. I feed it to the dog.

Other. I rarely do this so can't really remember any particular occurrences.

It's more like relief or just this deep inner sense of rejection that sticks with me for months/years.

Truthfully, I don't really get offended by much.

The situation never occurs. No one comes over and even if they did I wouldn't offer them anything. Usually nothing to offer them anyhow except water.

Never. I'm very particular about the foods I put in my body. I would probably be the one refusing something.

I mean...*ahem* Good job accepting that big green fish in such a convincing manner when you obviously love fish alive and would never eat one.

I'm a bit confused...m I sitting down to a meal?
No, it wouldn't offend me at all, and it wouldn't annoy me...but it would be awkward to eat in front of someone. I would most likely not eat if I was the only one unless I would simply perish without it.

Not if they do it politely.

I don't know how to answer this. I would have said 'disappointed', but I've never had people refuse for those reasons. More likely it's because what I made sounds too strange to them.

Ok, maybe the 'not incoveniencing' happens. I don't get annoyed, but still the intent is usually a social opening with a neighbor or something, so it's still a disappointment.

You are supposed to offer people food or drink?? I don't want them visiting in the first place, so giving them food or drink will just make them stay longer.

Especially beer. Oh, it is so nice to offer friends your beer, but think of the consequences...

It's really tough to get rid of them once you give them arsenic.
