| jen | posted 30-Sep-2009 9:32am I have a YouTube channel that strangers actually subscribe to! It's mostly just videos of my fish. |

| Galomorro | posted 30-Sep-2009 10:44am Yes, a few. But I didn't think they were very good. Borrowed a friend's camera once and went to a few different neighborhoods to try it out. But thought it was too jumpy -- I need a lot of practice doing this with a moving cam. Also it was a lot of hassle to get it up on especially other sites because the sites don't take anything but really short vids and this took a lot of time. I think I will wait until it gets easier, the cams get cheaper, and they're easier to manage when beginners go out with 'em, and especially it doesn't take such a long time for them to publish on various sites you want to put them on. |

| Iseult | posted 30-Sep-2009 12:46pm I tried to once, but it didn't let me. |
| Iseult | (reply to Galomorro) posted 30-Sep-2009 12:48pm Have you tried using a tripod? I know it limits the scope of filming, but it would solve the jumpiness. |
| labjog | posted 30-Sep-2009 1:36pm No. |
| labjog | (reply to bill) posted 30-Sep-2009 1:54pm Good video of the hummers, they are such greedy little things |
| coffee5437 | posted 30-Sep-2009 2:25pm I have recently posted two video slideshows on YouTube. My high school class reunion and a short family slideshow. |
| bill | (reply to labjog) posted 30-Sep-2009 2:46pm Mine left for the winter a couple weeks ago. We love seeing the U-shaped (mating?) flight pattern and the wooshing sound that goes with it. |
| gambler | posted 30-Sep-2009 3:07pm Not yet........... I will be posting one in a about 10 days, the subject will be my very boring (to most) new stereo install in my truck, some people on my Poker forum asked to post pics etc so it gave me the idea to make a video + I am dying to mess around with this new Video editing software!! Link to follow!!! |
| Galomorro | (reply to Iseult) posted 30-Sep-2009 6:54pm I used to have a tripod years ago when I had a regular camera. Now I have this little point-and-shoot digital and wouldn't want to hassle with a tripod when hiking. Probably in the future some little digital cams will come out that are easier to walk around with. I think I just need to practice more myself, so my walking around with such a cam will be more steady. Was not used to walking around with the borrowed camera and it was a different experience than using my usual still digital. |
| ElvisFan67 | posted 30-Sep-2009 7:14pm No, but I've saved some favorites posted by others. |
| labjog | (reply to bill) posted 30-Sep-2009 8:44pm I saw one today, I'm sure they will be gone soon though, it's pretty cold tonight. |

Hutchins. The two videos are part of the unboxing of it. I bought it on release say. It was kinda big deal. Had a forum post about it. |

| Zang | posted 9-Oct-2009 1:26pm No, but I'd like to. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Zang) posted 9-Oct-2009 5:21pm Well, you have the audio. You could always just paste together a video collage. The concern has been brewing in the back of my head too. An mp3 is no longer taken as seriously about indicating one's professional dedication. I'm not sure though that anything recorded via web cam is an improvement though. |
| Zang | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 10-Oct-2009 11:00am I have a VHS tape with a performance I did in 1986. I'd like to put that up. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Zang) posted 10-Oct-2009 7:50pm I have some super-8 films still. I had one transferred to VHS even.
I think it's about time we ditch even thinking in terms of media and have some stable licensing program. I'm also against that though. I don't want to lose my old Christmas videos because some stupid company screwed up their accounting. The library of congress changed it mind and decided that digital was the least, not the most stable preservation method. There's always flip-books. |
| Zang | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 11-Oct-2009 7:02pm Yeah, and some day the sun will supernova. |
| they | posted 12-Oct-2009 9:09pm Yes |
| CarlHalling | posted 13-Oct-2009 6:32pm No, never. I've a youtube account, but I can't afford a camcorder, or even the right kind of mobile phone, otherwise I'd post a video of me singing and playing the guitar. And anyway, I'm a techno-neanderthal. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 13-Oct-2009 7:33pm Keep hooking up with talented people then. Even if YouTube isn't your planned delivery system, it's nice to have a link for potential venue owners to pass along a link to other staff for hiring consideration. One good looking video (lights, setting, dancing couples, thematic content (moonlit seafaring)), and the rest all audio should be enough to accomplish that. |
| CarlHalling | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 16-Oct-2009 12:00pm I'd like to make a video someday soon. You Tube is the best there is these days in terms of displaying your work...thanks for the encouragement. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to CarlHalling) posted 16-Oct-2009 6:28pm Finding a videographer amongst friends of friends who want to make a producer/director name for themselves should be easier than finding a 35mm photographer or album artist when we were younger. |
| LindaH | posted 17-Oct-2009 10:15pm I tried, but after coming back to the computer several hours later and seeing upload progress was still at 0%, I gave up on the idea. |
