| gambler | posted 19-Sep-2009 8:11am waiting for someone, watching someone, car broken down and waiting for help, having lunch & listening to music, taking a private phone call .................loads of reasons.....(if it were me, I would do this waiting for my wife to stop shopping especially in this heat where I would have the AC on |
| Biggles | posted 19-Sep-2009 9:36am It depends on where he has parked and the appearance of the man and the car. I certainly do make snap judgements about people, but generally based on rather more information than this! |
| Enheduanna | posted 19-Sep-2009 1:19pm I'd probably figure he was just killing some time before he had to be somewhere else, or was taking a nap, or something harmless. It would depend on where he was, though. If he were in a parking lot, I would figure he was napping/resting/killing time. If he were in a residential neighborhood with nothing else nearby, I might be a little suspicious if he stayed for more than a couple of hours, but not for one hour. If he were at a drive-in, I'd imagine he was watching a movie! |
| Wicksy | posted 19-Sep-2009 1:31pm I would think it was CK |
| Iseult | posted 19-Sep-2009 3:07pm He's a dealer. Or a hit man. Or he just wants some time on his own - he's thinking.
Although my perception would different whether it was day or night, whether he was in a car parked on a street or parking lot, etc. Is he fiddling with his phone? |

| cerealkiller | posted 20-Sep-2009 1:38am It's just me waiting for my wife at a hair or doctor appointment. She doesn't drive. |
| cerealkiller | posted 20-Sep-2009 1:40am We had a guy one night parked in front of the house for a long time with the motor running, He didn't appear to me moving. We called the police and it turned out the guy was drunk and was able to park before passing out. |

| Kristal_Rose | posted 23-Sep-2009 9:34am Unless it's a teen with nothing better to do, or someone who's home is stressful, or it's outside a store, I generally figure drugs are involved. That's my only experience. People don't have their life together if they have to wait an hour for someone else to leave the house. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to rustygirl50) posted 23-Sep-2009 9:39am Except that sounds to me like one of the most legitimate reasons to be waiting in a car, to pick up your child. If you were arriving from some other driving location with time to kill, better to wait at the destination. Besides, schools are usually more scenic than places like supermarkets. |
| Zang | posted 24-Sep-2009 10:35am He's waiting for his wife. She's getting her hair done. |
