| bill | posted 15-Sep-2009 7:26am I do. I think it does help me be a little less wet (less time in the rain if I get there faster), though I'll admit the difference is slight at best. But, also, less time in an unpleasant situation (being rained on). And, just the feeling that I'm doing something about the situation I'm in by running. |
| gambler | posted 15-Sep-2009 8:08am Thats wrong...........logically speaking of course.. |
| Iseult | posted 15-Sep-2009 8:29am Yes. It's not that much the question of getting less wet, it's the fact that I'm not exactly comfortable when it's pouring so I run to decrease the time spent in those conditions. |
| LindaH | posted 15-Sep-2009 10:44am Not usually. I dance in the rain. |

| Galomorro | posted 15-Sep-2009 11:05am No, just walk fast and as much in the shelter of building overhangs as I can get. I never carry umbrellas - they're dangerous weapons in a crowd and tend to blow apart in the wind, and my arm gets tired. So I wear a hooded raincoat and sometimes a hoodie sweatshirt. |
| Enheduanna | posted 15-Sep-2009 1:16pm Yes. |
| mandy | posted 15-Sep-2009 1:49pm Yes, It's fun and I scream too with glee. |
| Biggles | posted 15-Sep-2009 2:09pm I once saw an (unreliable) experiment done on TV that found that people who ran in the rain got wetter than those who walked - perhaps because the raindrops penetrated their clothes rather than bouncing off? I'd want to see it replicated under more reliable conditions before I believed it. Personally, I usually walk in the rain, unless it's important I don't get too wet, in which case I will scurry (rather than run). |
| cerealkiller | posted 15-Sep-2009 2:48pm Can't remember when I experienced pouring rain last. It only sprinkles here and I haven't pulled out an umbrella in years.
Wait, I remember. It was 1975 when a friend and I took a trip to Disney World. Poured like hell and you could't even see past the hood of the car. |
| Crayons | posted 16-Sep-2009 5:47pm I would at least move quicker. I'd run if I was enjoying the rain. |
| FordGuy | (reply to Crayons) posted 16-Sep-2009 6:35pm Would you sing in the rain? |
| Crayons | (reply to FordGuy) posted 16-Sep-2009 7:19pm I wouldn't sing in the sun. |
| FordGuy | (reply to Crayons) posted 16-Sep-2009 8:23pm Shower? Would you sing in the shower? |
| Crayons | (reply to FordGuy) posted 16-Sep-2009 8:35pm Especially not in the shower. It would echo and people in the house would hear me. I'd only sing if I had a CD playing loud enough to drown out my voice. |
| FordGuy | (reply to Crayons) posted 16-Sep-2009 8:51pm Well... what if it was the radio and not a CD? |
| Gomezy3k | posted 20-Sep-2009 1:19pm Nope just walk... Rain never hurt anyone. |
| Lahdee | posted 22-Sep-2009 11:27am Do you get less wet being thrown into a pool as opposed to being thrown in the ocean? If it's pouring down and you aren't walking a very short distance, you aren't going to get or feel any more dry by the time you get there if you run, than if you walk. I guess some people are really uncomfortable being in the rain? |
| Zang | posted 9-Oct-2009 2:19pm I tend to avoid running. Rain doesn't bother me much. The parts of me that are made entirely out of sugar, have a tendency to melt, but otherwise I'm okay. |
| romeoandjuliet | posted 22-Oct-2009 3:33pm I walk - I always seem to have a London Lite on me, when it rains |
| LuridHope | posted 17-Nov-2009 5:57pm If it comes it comes. I endure. You get dirtier running anyway. I'de rather be soaked than muddy. |
