| Galomorro | posted 10-Sep-2009 6:15pm (All this is if I still had to work) -- 1 commute time; 2 location, as close as possible, certainly not in some suburb; 3 working with other people - as in I would not WANT to; 4 work schedule - preferably flextime and parttime; 5 - salary; 6 - benefits; 7 - job security; 8 advancement possibilities if I wasn't pressured. The rest I would not care about - especially I would hate to travel, go to company social activities or have so-called "challenging work." I couldn't care less about how big a company is; in fact, I think bigger corporations are the worst, having worked for some. |

| Jody | posted 11-Sep-2009 11:32am Certainly working with hard-working highly-functional people I can respect is also a requirement, and having sympathetic and supportive management. |
| mandy | posted 11-Sep-2009 12:46pm I just want to serve humanity and feel I am contributing in a positive way in the world. This is the best form of job satisfaction for me. |
| coffee5437 | posted 11-Sep-2009 3:07pm left a big company last year and don't want to be in that place again. money is my top pick because i work to live not the other way around. i like being challenged so the day goes by faster and like to travel. 1 - 2 - 3...hey, anybody have a job in or around portland oregon??? |
| cloudhugger | posted 11-Sep-2009 3:41pm I've been self employed too long to have to think about that. I don't get along with my boss, and that chick I hired is a real problem, so none of the above or all of the above, I don't know. |
| Dino | posted 11-Sep-2009 5:10pm I've put 'Working with other people' top. I hate my job sometimes. I mean really hate it, but I get on with the people I work with and that counts for a lot and keeps me there. And the salary second. Its no big salary, but with my qualifications, it'd be hard to step out and find something else. |
| Iseult | (reply to Dino) posted 11-Sep-2009 5:23pm I hear what you're saying. My last job was complete crap (I worked for a call centre), but at the end of the day I enjoyed it because all of my bosses were really cool and lenient and my co-workers were friendly. |
| Enheduanna | posted 11-Sep-2009 5:39pm What really matters to me is the kind of work I'm doing and the people I'm working with. The rest is mostly all about the same, and a plus in one can make up for a minus in the other. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 14-Sep-2009 6:40pm 1. Salary (get paid lots) , 2. Advancement Possibilities - Do they promote incompetence? IF so I should be president in a couple years 9. Company Size - can I get lost in the crowd? 10. Commute Time - How much time will I have to spend on road to get to work little to none preferred. 11. Company Social activities - Do I really have to associate with these jerks? 12. Working with other people - Do I really have to work with these jerks? |
| jettles | posted 24-Sep-2009 9:54pm top 3 were challenging work, benefits and then salary. |
