| labjog | posted 9-Sep-2009 4:22pm I think it's cruel. Takes their defense away. Plus its got to be sore for a while. |
| Dino | posted 9-Sep-2009 4:44pm Yes, definitely. |
| cerealkiller | posted 9-Sep-2009 4:53pm It's like chopping off a person's fingers at the first knuckle joint. Would you like that? |
| Galomorro | posted 9-Sep-2009 6:19pm Yes it should. I'm proud of my city! |
| dab | posted 9-Sep-2009 7:29pm Banning should be banned. |
| Crayons | posted 9-Sep-2009 7:38pm I don't really know much about cats and their claws. Dogs keep their teeth, and they just have to learn to not bite and chew. I wonder what it would be like with toothless dogs. |
| LJD | posted 9-Sep-2009 9:35pm Yes |
| FauxLo | posted 10-Sep-2009 1:58am If people have the right to carry firearms, cats should be able to keep their claws. |
| Iseult | posted 10-Sep-2009 6:32am I know next to nothing on this subject. |
| paulyw | posted 10-Sep-2009 9:48am My cat is declawed on all 4 paws, he is indoors all the time. |
| icurok | posted 10-Sep-2009 12:53pm If it was a choice between my fingernails and my testicles, I know which I'd rather keep. |
| Wicksy | posted 10-Sep-2009 4:40pm This is merely a drop in the ocean. It shows the human arrogance that they choose to put their beloved pet through pain in order to save their leather (made from more cruelty) chairs.
Pathetic |

I am amazed at how smart he is!! He wanted a peach from our tree so he grabbed a branch with his mouth and backed up then let it go, about ten peaches fell and he happily munched away. I never thought that I would love a pig as much as I love him. |
| coffee5437 | posted 11-Sep-2009 4:10pm Yes, it should be banned!!! What a barbaric practice. |

| cloudhugger | posted 11-Sep-2009 5:41pm Other. I didn't read the link. I'm sure it is more harmful to my sensitive state I am at at this moment than the cat getting declawed.
I believe a choice to do this is reasonable. I take this as seriously as abortion rights. |
| Enheduanna | posted 11-Sep-2009 5:44pm I really don't know enough about it. I'm against declawing personally, but I'm not sure what I think about banning it. I guess it kind of seems like a good idea (to ban it). If you don't want your cats clawing your furniture, then don't get cats. |

| labjog | (reply to Wicksy) posted 12-Sep-2009 8:29am I agree totally! Very cruel. My Daughter just started her Ag tech class. They are going to tag the baby pigs ears on Monday. Morgan (my Daughter) is like you, she gets very angry if she sees any kind of cruelty to animals and she is not afraid to let you know it. It will be interesting to see how she does in this class. Maybe her voice will help change some things. I know she wont give up without a fight (and probably tears). |

What's an Ag tech class and how old is she? |
| labjog | (reply to Wicksy) posted 13-Sep-2009 8:24am Morgan will be 17 on Sept 30. Agricultural tech is basically a farming class. They learn how to manage crops, farm animals, farm machinery ect. Her goal is to be a veterinary assistant. |

| risingroad | posted 13-Sep-2009 2:18pm YES!!! And so should lopping off tails on dogs (they do this only so the dog doesn't slap a person with it) which is their smile, their emotions... and while we are at it, circumcision on boys until they are old enough to make that decision themselves. |

Pigs are more than "food". At one time women weren't considered viable citizens. If you choose to eat pigs that is your choice but at least give them the respect they deserve giving their life for you like the Native Americans thanked the elk and NEVER saw them just as food. |

| cerealkiller | (reply to risingroad) posted 13-Sep-2009 4:11pm I'll have to remember to thank the pigs and cows before I take a bite. Thanks.
I didn't know women were not considered viable citizens. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 14-Sep-2009 6:50pm Personally I think people should be the ones declawed and neutered not animals. |
| LindaH | posted 14-Sep-2009 9:57pm I want to see a movie... "Revenge of the Declawed"
