True story: I saw a fox approaching a cat that was asleep last night. Before the fox got to attack the cat, I shouted at it and it ran away. Was this the right thing to do?

It doesn't matter. As for me, I would have just watched. Unless it was my cat. If you love your cat, sure, of course you would do this. If you do it for someone else's cat, fine, the fox is just going to kill something else. Cats kill mice, remember, they're no better than any other carnivore.

In the grand scheme of things, it makes little difference. I would have done the same as you though - the cat is probably a pet and its loss would probably cause great upset.

Are you sure the fox was about to attack the cat? I don't know much about foxes.

If it was my cat or a cat I knew I would have done the same thing. Actually, I probably would have done it even if I knew the cat or not.

Yes. The fox was not there to return a favor by any means.

If the fox was actually a werewolf, you could be in danger
