| gambler | posted 31-Aug-2009 8:47am No, I have been in a sauna which is similar....... dont expect me to jump into the ice cold water afterwards (you have got to be F88king kidding me) lol |
| Iseult | posted 31-Aug-2009 9:01am If by steam room you mean sauna, then yes. I disliked it very much. |
| bill | posted 31-Aug-2009 9:43am When I was a teenager in the early 80s, I joined a racketball club that had one. I've had more experiences with saunas. I'm not really into either. |
| labjog | posted 31-Aug-2009 10:10am Yes. |
| jettles | posted 31-Aug-2009 10:11am i prefer the sauna. don't like the wet heat thing so much. |
| Galomorro | posted 31-Aug-2009 11:04am No, not my thing. |
| LindaH | posted 31-Aug-2009 11:32am Yes, a lot when I was younger. Now I miss it. |
| Enheduanna | posted 31-Aug-2009 12:03pm Yes, and I loved it. I want a steam room in my dream-house now, but my SO insists that I wouldn't really use it. I was in a steam room that was just too hot once, too, though. The little jets of steam burned my skin, and I couldn't move anywhere that it wasn't a problem. But if it's just the right temperature, like the other one was, I could stay in there for hours. |
| Enheduanna | posted 31-Aug-2009 12:04pm On the other hand, I hate saunas. Too dry--hurts to breathe. |
| ScubaScott | posted 31-Aug-2009 2:22pm Yes, and it was incredible. I'm a big fan of saunas, too.

| ScubaScott | posted 31-Aug-2009 2:27pm I can't believe all of you sauna dislikers. You must have been sauna-ing incorrectly. Since the U.P. has such a large Finnish infuence, there are more people with saunas than without them. It's an amazing experience and something I partake in on a very regular basis, including jumping through a hole in the ice, naked, after reaching "switching temperature". It's something that really has to be experienced to appreciate. |
| cerealkiller | posted 31-Aug-2009 2:44pm Sauna, but not a steam room. |
| mandy | posted 31-Aug-2009 2:58pm Yuck |
| RainingFeathers | posted 31-Aug-2009 5:15pm No, and I have no plans to. Just being in a shower for a few minutes makes me feel quite faint (hence why I usually opt for baths, but that's another survey.) I can't handle small, warm areas. |
| Biggles | posted 1-Sep-2009 6:24pm I've been in steamy rooms, but not steam rooms. It's not something that I would seek out. |
| meowry | posted 4-Sep-2009 1:47pm Jets of hot steam burning my sensitive skin? No thank you! |
| Dino | posted 6-Sep-2009 11:48am I like sweating.
There is something purging and cathartic about it. |
