| jettles | posted 29-Aug-2009 7:25am we never go to walmart. don't like their treatment of their employees, business practices or their stores in general. this site was funny though!!!!! |
| LindaH | posted 29-Aug-2009 10:35am No more than anywhere else. People who go to the zoo on free day, now there's a bunch of crazy looking people. |
| Galomorro | posted 29-Aug-2009 11:07am I never shop there. I've never been to one. There's not one close enough; I don't even know where the closest one is. What do you mean, "seem unusual?" |
| southernyankee | posted 29-Aug-2009 11:22am As opposed to K-Mart or the Dollar General shoppers? |
| southernyankee | posted 29-Aug-2009 11:33am Be more specific. Are you talking about people who have "at least once in their lifetime been inside of a Walmart" or people who only go there and nowhere else? Walmart is the #1 retailer in the US for a reason? If anything, I would argue that anyone who has never been inside of a Walmart (save for people who haven't spent anytime in the US) are a bit unusual.
Now, to the latter case. Well, if you're poor or cheap enough that you can't afford to shop anywhere else, then thats unusual in its own sense. But its not the actual Walmart shopping that makes you unusual, its the conditions surrounding you that make you go there. |
| Enheduanna | posted 29-Aug-2009 12:40pm No. I never shop there, but I know people who do, and they seem normal to me. |
| llamamama | posted 29-Aug-2009 1:35pm Wal-mart certainly brings out the flavor of the city. |
| mandy | posted 29-Aug-2009 1:59pm Some do
Some do not I like unusual people |
| Biggles | posted 29-Aug-2009 2:22pm I've never been in a Walmart. |
| gambler | posted 29-Aug-2009 2:37pm No, I shop at walmart every time I go to the US and stock up on stuff, as funny as some of those pics are, I bet you could go into any large store in the summertime and see people like this |
| cerealkiller | posted 29-Aug-2009 2:48pm That would make me unusal too. Only thing is likely the proportion of people is more lower middle class. I find it's just ordinary people who are smart and know where the best prices are. |
| cerealkiller | (reply to jettles) posted 29-Aug-2009 2:50pm > we never go to walmart. don't like their treatment
> of their employees, business practices or their > stores in general. this site was funny though!!!!! I find that a bullcrap excuse. Who cares about their employees? If they don't like it there they can find another job. Opponents use the same lame crap trying to block Walmart everywhere. There is going to be a huge super Walmart a few blocks from me open 24 hrs a day. I can't wait. Usual bozo's trying to block it, unsuccessfully of course. |
| llamamama | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 29-Aug-2009 3:25pm I definitely wouldn't say they're necessarily smart. |
| kirst | posted 29-Aug-2009 6:38pm Not really. I usually only tend to shop at Wal-Mart when we're at our house in Georgia. Going to Wal-Mart is kind of exciting when we're there because there are not many retail opportunities around way out in the boonies. Wal-Mart is a 45 drive away...yes, some of the people are odd but they are pretty representative of the local population. I am excited that our little town is getting its own Wal-Mart this fall. It will make life a lot easier. |
| Zang | posted 29-Aug-2009 8:39pm Kind of. I've only been inside of a Wal-Mart a few times. I always feel kind of strange in places like that. Malls... that sort of thing... |
| they | posted 30-Aug-2009 8:35am How odd. I was going to click this survey to post this exact link |
| they | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 30-Aug-2009 8:41am In some towns, it's the only place to find work.... because Wal-Mart came in and put everyone else out of business. In fact, when I worked at Wal-Mart in Dunn, NC about 10 years ago, they had a framed picture of the only competition left in town hanging in the back room..... It always reminded me of a hitlist. |
| cloudhugger | posted 30-Aug-2009 10:38am It inspires me to take photos next time I go. |
| cloudhugger | (reply to LindaH) posted 30-Aug-2009 10:39am The grocery stores here in town on a Sunday late afternoon. It's legitimitly scary. |
| icurok | posted 30-Aug-2009 2:38pm We do most of our weekly food shopping at the nearest large supermarket, which happens to be an Asda-Walmart store. The people who shop there don't look anywhere near as bad as in those photos.
Farmfoods on the other hand is a like a holding pen for The Jeremy Kyle show. |
| Crayons | posted 30-Aug-2009 2:52pm I go there occasionally, as well as Walgreens [I can walk there, but it isn't nearly as huge. Walmart has EVERYTHING.] KMart too, yeah. But if I go clothes shopping, that's at the mall. I might get some hair stuff or something at those places. I love dollar stores, but they're not as fun as when I was a kid. Good for candles and stuff. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 30-Aug-2009 4:22pm Yes but only if you shop at the 24 hour stores and go about 3 in the morning. You get to see some VERY strange people then. Most in PJ's. |
| Gomezy3k | (reply to jettles) posted 30-Aug-2009 4:23pm > we never go to walmart. don't like their treatment of their employees,

| rustygirl50 | posted 30-Aug-2009 5:12pm Yes! It's starts at the front with the greeter. |
| jettles | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 31-Aug-2009 10:06am whatever, you don't seem to care about anyone else................... i do and not everyone can "just find another job". |
| jettles | (reply to Gomezy3k) posted 31-Aug-2009 10:09am see reply above to cerealkiller, that's your opinion........... and i think your opinion about this is wrong! |
| meowry | posted 31-Aug-2009 1:13pm Sometimes. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 31-Aug-2009 2:25pm No they do not |
| Lahdee | posted 31-Aug-2009 3:37pm Some do. Some don't. |
| Dino | posted 6-Sep-2009 11:55am I love people watching.
But no, never been to Walmart. |
| mandy | posted 8-Sep-2009 8:36pm I was just there today....I looked....nothing weird |
| boogeyzilla | posted 11-Nov-2009 5:01pm I have actually never been inside a Walmart - but I don't live in the U.S. I just saw the Southpark episode about Walmart - very funny. |
| Moogie | posted 18-Nov-2009 5:37pm OMG yes! especially in Jonesville Michigan. It's a little redneck town and there are quite a few rednecks!!!!! It's so funny, my mom and I make fun of people all the time in there. |
