| Melf | posted 25-Aug-2009 7:23pm Not exactly. I glance at products I'm interested in. You won't find me stressing about the salt in my coco pops or whatever. But the amount of salt in cup-a-soup has put me off, and Tescos pasta (to eat on the go) is more of the GDA for calories (25%) than I feel comfortable with. I don't drink fizzy drinks regularly any more so it doesn't really bother me when I have a lot at once. |
| labjog | posted 25-Aug-2009 7:28pm I used to with little success. Now I plan all of my meals using the food pyramid. I have lost 40 lbs so far. |
| cerealkiller | posted 25-Aug-2009 9:21pm I count carbs, but not by choice. I have to because of my diabetes. The last year or so I ignored watching my blood sugar and what I ate.
Went to the doctor last week and found out my blood sugar is 3 times normal. Back to rabbit food and Coke Zero for me. |
| Galomorro | posted 25-Aug-2009 10:11pm No way! I hate all the emphasis -- BO-ring -- on "calories" and "carbs." I would never diet or eat diet food. |
| jettles | posted 25-Aug-2009 10:48pm sometimes i do and sometimes i don't |
| LJD | posted 26-Aug-2009 12:12am Carbs |
| Crayons | posted 26-Aug-2009 12:41am A little bit, sometimes. To GAIN though, not to lose. If there are two similar foods in the house but one has ten more calories, I'll eat that one. But it doesn't really seem to matter because I never seem to gain weight. I don't really care that much. Whatever. It's kind of neat being skinnier than everyone else, but they can't say I never try. |
| bill | posted 26-Aug-2009 8:32am I check calories sometimes. Also, fat, sodium, and sugar. Many of the things I eat don't have nutritional info printed on them. For example, that peach I just ate. |
| Jody | posted 26-Aug-2009 9:13am Over the years, I've developed a fairly good idea of how many calories things have. I don't strictly count, but I definitely try to eat high calorie foods intentionally (do I really want this? how much do I really need?) |
| Iseult | posted 26-Aug-2009 11:35am I try to. It's hard with things you make yourself. |
| Enheduanna | posted 26-Aug-2009 5:00pm Not really. |
| Anderz | posted 28-Aug-2009 7:31pm Yeah, just so I know that I'm not over eating. |
| LindaH | posted 28-Aug-2009 8:42pm No. I just don't eat very much. |
| mandy | posted 29-Aug-2009 2:50pm CARBS!!!!!!!!!! |
| autumnlight | posted 29-Aug-2009 5:32pm Sometimes. When I gain weight, which I have recently. |
| Dino | posted 6-Sep-2009 12:35pm I watch the grams of fat.
I don't like the calories option - too confusing, or annoying when I want something. Once I started doing that, I stopped eating certain things and replaced them with others. Lost a bit of weight (in a good way) by dong that. I believe 75g of fat is what an average person needs. |
| meowry | posted 22-Sep-2009 6:08am I don't eat much, so I don't really have to. I just try to stay away from the bad junk (especially those high in sodium). |
| romeoandjuliet | posted 22-Oct-2009 3:59pm No, I eat what I want |
| they | posted 21-Nov-2009 8:48am I watch that stuff. I don't actively count it. |
