Yes and no. 99% of stuff you can't really fix yourself anymore. And you need special tools. My Lincoln has a tail light bulb out and I can't figure out how the hell you get to it. One connector in the trunk feeds 3 lightbulbs in the assembly. Guess you have to pull out the entire tail light assembly. Ridiculous.

I found out on the VW Beetle I had you cannot change a headlight yourself. Only a vehicle dealer or repair place has tools to do it. Frickin' cost me $75 for a damn headlight, most of which was labor.

Not worth the mess and hassle changing oil anymore either, and trying to dispose of it. I just go to the quick lube place.

Cars these days don't really need tune-ups either much.

I don't even wash them myself. Too much work. I just drive through the carwash.

Guess the only thing I do myself is clean the interiors.

We had a car once where you had to take the tire off to change the battery, thats pretty poor planning.

I do all the work myself. From electrical, to mechanical, to body work. I can do it all man.

I once disassembled my Triumph sports car. Completely. Every nut and bolt. And then put it back together. And it worked again! And there were very few leftover parts.

There have been a couple cars which required pulling the engine to get at one of the sparkplugs.

Minor fixes I do myself. Major fixes go to my brothers who are mechanics
