Well, I've never seen one bigger than an inch wide, [including legs]. So I haven't really .. seen a "real" spider. But I don't think I would be very quick to hold a big old tarantula. But I like fake spiders, like spider jewelry.

I made this because people seem 'put off' when a light "nothing important" conversation shifts to a more serious or debate-oriented one.

Not for me. That's where I usually head, even with casual strangers. I supose I sense how to pick them in the first place though, and sense their comfort zones beforehand.
