| Galomorro | posted 18-Aug-2009 8:22pm Both, and also music CDs. I'm a big user of the main and various branches of the library. San Francisco's main library also has periodic booksales and one huge annual one where books are a dollar or just a few bucks. |
| jettles | posted 18-Aug-2009 9:49pm both but mostly fiction |
| dab | posted 18-Aug-2009 9:51pm Back when I used libraries, it was both. However, it has been a long time. |

| Wicksy | posted 19-Aug-2009 2:53am I have only taken out two books in the last 15 years and they were both fiction |
| Melf | posted 19-Aug-2009 5:56am Usually either fiction or biographies. I got Les Miserables out on Monday, after returning eleven books at once. That was nice on my arms. |
| bill | posted 19-Aug-2009 8:18am I haven't used a library in decades. |
| TeddyMiller | posted 19-Aug-2009 9:13am Usually science fiction and history. |
| Matty | posted 19-Aug-2009 12:31pm I generally get books at Borders because the library always seems so far behind, but when I do go, I get fiction. |
| cloudhugger | posted 19-Aug-2009 2:01pm I have my own library. Otherwise I am searching resources on line. I don't read fiction much at all. |
| cerealkiller | posted 19-Aug-2009 2:44pm There are still libraries?
In the past I used libraries only for reference materials, which 99% were way out of date. I don't see the need for libraries anymore unless you're a die-hard book reader. |
| FauxLo | posted 19-Aug-2009 4:19pm I like Science Fiction and Fantasy, but I've checked out non-fiction books from time-to-time. |
| Enheduanna | posted 19-Aug-2009 6:49pm The majority of my library use is academic, so non-fiction. I almost never get fiction at the library. |
| Lahdee | posted 21-Aug-2009 8:02am Non-fiction |
| cprasky | posted 21-Aug-2009 1:16pm I don't check out books from the library anymore. Did you know you have to bring those back???? And I can't stand letting go of a book. |
| Gomezy3k | posted 23-Aug-2009 10:20am I have a library card but haven't checked a book out in years. I prefer to buy books and keep them. I hit book stores, flea markets and thrift stores to get books. Where I live there is a "library" where people donate books and you can go in and take them with no charge or check out. I have gotten a lot of books from there and dropped off some that I no longer wanted. |
| Biggles | posted 26-Aug-2009 3:13pm Fiction from the city library, non-fiction from the university/hospital libraries. |
| Dino | posted 6-Sep-2009 4:33pm I prefer fiction.
To me books are escapist. If they're teach me stuff about life, then all the better. |
