Only in roads and highways, but never in the city.

I won't ride in the front seat of a car that has both the shoulder and lap belts mounted to the door. I don't feel comfortable in a car without a seatbelt, even if I'm just moving the car 25 feet.

Joe: I have a death wish too, but I don't have a horrible-maiming wish. If you want to pursue your death wish, I recommend something less likely to leave you paralyzed and in agony.

I hate the fact that this is a law (or was it repealed again) but I always wear it. (my seatbelt, that is, I don't wear the law as I don't think the actual bound volume would provide much protection in a passenger-side impact.)

OK, I said "sometimes" because, while I always wear a seatbelt in the front seat, whether I am the driver or a passenger, I rarely wear them when I am in the back seat.

if I'm in the front seat always, in the back only if the driver asks esp. if it is a tight fit (i.e. many people squeezed in)

I want to be around to see my grandchildren grow up! And I would hate to think of someone being seriously hurt while in my car just because they didn't have thier seat belt on.

Yes, I always wear the seatbelt. In Spain, it's obligatory, even in the cities. BTW: My car is an old one, and it doesn't have seatbelts in the back seats.

Yes, and I want others to as well - but I will not make them do it. Sometimes I just skip it too, but very rarely.

When seated in the front seat of a car I *always* wear my seatbelt, it feels wrong to drive just to the end of the driveway if I'm not belted in, even as a passenger. In the rear seat I will wear a seatbelt if a 3-point belt is available to me. If no 3-point belt is available in the rear I will go unbelted. There seems to be no serious consideration or thought behind my rear-seat protocol, it just evolved that way. Weird.

Few cars do not have seatbealts today, so I always buckle up.

As I've told passengers, "Well, it's your life. If you really don't want to wear one I'd appreciate it if you get one on in cas of an accident (even after) for my insurance company..."

If there's a lot of people in the car and if there isn't one available I won't wear one.

When i'm driving, everyone in the car has to have a seatbelt on. I'm not going to have anyone's death on my shoulders for something as stupid as refusing to put a seatbelt on.

I don't actually *make* my passengers wear theirs (unless my kids are in the car), but I remind them if they don't buckle up, and usually, they do. Otoh, if I am a passenger in someone else's vehicle, and there doesn't seem to be a seatbelt accessible for me (not often, but sometimes), I will ride without (only in the back, though).

I always wear a seatbelt if it is a proper seatbelt (no slice-me-in-two belts). Some cars don't have them (three point seatbelts) in the back seat, and in that case I would rather not wear one at all.

Yes, and you're not riding in my car unless you do, too. (Not wearing one is stupid, but it's your right. It's also my right not to let you into my car.)

If a three (or more) point harness is available, I'll wear it. I always wear a helmet and leather on the bike.

If I am driving, I usually have it on. The paranoia factor, If i am driving and don't have it on, then I can get ticketed for not having it on as well (I think). if I am a passenger, almost never, unless the driver REALLY insists. My immediate family has been in several accidents where they were not wearing seatbelts and have had no serious injuries. I have been in an accident and got no injuries while not wearing the seatbelt (if the deer had gone through the windshield it wouldnt' have mattered either way).

Yes I tend to always wear my seat belt when possible, even in the back seat

Ever since I was a passenger in an accident, I would have had more than just a couple of scratches and a sore leg.

I'm puzzled by the "won't stay" opters... really? no trains, busses, subways for you? I'm impressed.

If I'm driving I do, and my passengers do. Otherwise, not really, unless the terrain is especially dangerous for whatever reason, or the driver is a little intoxicated or what have you.

I always wear a seat belt in the front seat. I often neglect wearing one in the back seat. I ask my passengers to wear the seat belt too, but if they choose not to I don't push it.
