Are you, or have you been, a member of a paid on-line survey site?

I've been a member of every survey site I can find that doesn't insist on my phone number. I've been paid occasionally but mostly it's just a few bucks at a time to PayPal or sometimes a check. Sometimes I get $5 at a time to Amazon so get some music for my iTunes this way. They have sweepstakes but I've never won any of these. My fav is Harris Poll and I recommend this because they have good surveys with proper options. Harris lets you can complain or compliment on the poll you just took if you like, and I like this. With one place I don't care for their prizes, so I just take the surveys and don't play the game or enter points. I prefer cash or being able to get stuff from Amazon. Some places have really bad surveys -- I've actually told at least one place they should take lessons from Survey Central. Some do not provide good choices and one wonders how people can make such bad surveys and actually think they're good enough to send invitations out to people for, and these people are actually getting paid to create such terrible surveys. Some insist you use a particular browser. Some are only for PCs, not Macs. Some don't work at all. Some companies you sign up for and never hear from them again. Some have these surveys that only look for certain people and very few are going to qualify for. Many I myself don't qualify for since I have no cell phone, no TV, don't eat at fast food restaurants, don't shop at regular supermarkets, stuff like that. Some you complain to and they never answer, or email you back several days later with a form letter of sorts saying "We don't have anything to d with the surveys; just answer the best you can" -- stuff like that. I don't care for Greenfield Online just to name one that I unsubscribed to in disgust. I never get enough surveys that I actually qualify for and that I can get through without some kind of error message or improper options so that I can't answer honestly, but have to put some kind of fake, untrue answer that does not apply to me just to get by to the next question so I can finish the survey... Survey Central is better than many and should go commercial !

Sort of. Well, I have my online job, and as little money as I make with that, it's much more than I've made otherwise. I've used http://dollarsurveys.net/ and gotten paid maybe twice. The problem with survey sites is sometimes they take really long to do, or just keep giving you more offers and questions, or in the middle the link stops working, or they ask for your credit card number, so I'd say that I've been paid for maybe 5% if any surveys I've ever started online. It's not worth it.

I used to go on mylot.com, and I would make at the very most 15 dollars a month, from being on it for hours a day.

Yes, they would email me surveys and after I took them, I'd get a fresh $2 bill in the mail. This was when my kid was a baby... years ago.

They are all in Mary's piggy bank.

YouGov - I'm almost up to the £50 you have to hit for them to send you anything, which has only taken about 7 years. My Mum joined about 2 years ago and has earned a similar amount to me - the joys of being a middle-aged housewife!

I don't like survey sites very much. People who sit around making and answering surveys seem a bit weird.

Once I used to, I got Boots vouchers once out of it. (Boots is a drugstore).
Not any more. Infact, if I recall, it was based on that, that I searched and found SC.

Yeah!
