| LindaH | posted 2-Aug-2009 11:45am I've never had to fake my identity, but I did have fake names as a kid, for playing around. My friends did too. |
| ElvisFan67 | posted 2-Aug-2009 3:53pm I was never under an alias. But if I were, I'd be creative and use something like Elvis Presley's movie character names from two of his movies: Something like "Vince Wells"--"Vince" (first name of his character from Jailhouse Rock), and "Wells" (last name of his character from Girl Happy).
Of course, Elvis himself used to travel under aliases many times later in his career. He used names like "Jon Borrows" and "Dr. John Carpenter" (his movie character name from Change Of Habit). |

| Biggles | posted 3-Aug-2009 6:26am I have used one. I used it to contact an alternative therapy provider after receiving an outrageously misleading "medical" lecture from them. I wanted to know if they offered harmful treatments, and they did. I don't think the fake name was really necessary as the person I contacted didn't know who I was anyway, and the medical school were on my side once they knew what had happened. |

| icurok | posted 3-Aug-2009 1:38pm I use a series of fake names whenever I reply to 419 scammers. The one I use most often is the Reverend Chris James. He's useful because so many of them appeal to God when trying to convince you. |

But if you use a fake name long enough, does it not become who you are and you would no longer be anonymous?
