| Crayons | posted 12-Jun-2009 8:12am No, I'm picky and nibble on bland tasting foods, like plain bagels. I don't like to try things that look like they have more than 6 ingredients. My brother kind of is. He really pays attention to food commercials, and always wants to try the limited edition things. Maybe the difference is that my brother likes everything.Except when my mom cooks he often complains that there is too much fat and it's too chewy. |
| jen | posted 12-Jun-2009 10:01am I have always been annoyed by food. I'm the opposite of foodie. |
| cloudhugger | posted 12-Jun-2009 10:15am No, I'm not that interested. It sounds a bit on the compulsive obsessive side. I am more of a food snob. |
| wigarach | posted 12-Jun-2009 10:21am What is a foodie? |
| Galomorro | posted 12-Jun-2009 10:48am Oh yes! Still one even if I can't afford to go out to eat - but I used to, and loved it. I liked it a lot when they'd give you these teensy portions and with each morsel you'd get a different sampling of wine. I like different cuisines as well and like trying various wines. If I had more money the restaurants here would get a lot more bizness. |
| autumnlight | posted 12-Jun-2009 10:50am I'm a massive foodie. In fact, I'm pretty obsessed with cooking now. I love baking especially and cooking seafood. I also record every food programme on the planet - (Masterchef especially!!). I also subscribe to Good Food magazine and have geeky folders in which I file all the recipes. So, yeah food is good!! |
| dpurdy33 | posted 12-Jun-2009 11:59am Yes I love to eat!! Anything! Anytime!! Anywhere!!! |
| Enheduanna | posted 12-Jun-2009 11:59am I guess so. |
| cerealkiller | posted 12-Jun-2009 2:59pm Yes, of fast food. |
| meowry | posted 12-Jun-2009 4:44pm I wouldn't say I'm a foodie, when it comes to cheese. I'm more of a gourmet. |

| Cain | posted 13-Jun-2009 11:11am Can't talk, my mouth is full of food... |
| Gomezy3k | posted 14-Jun-2009 10:19am I guess... I am more of an Eatie... I will eat anything but fish, liver and cow tongue. |
| Biggles | posted 15-Jun-2009 8:08am I love to cook/bake/eat, but I'm definitely not a food snob, so I wouldn't call myself a foodie. Matthew Fort is a foodie, I just like food.
edit The definition provided in no way corresponds to the way that I have heard "foodie" used. I've only ever heard it as interchangeable with "gourmet" or even indicating a level of snobbery beyond that. |
