Walk out the door never to return.

My server generally doesn't touch my food, so I wouldn't be worried. The cooks in the kitchen do, though, so I'd want them to wash their hands...

Probably just never return to that restaurant. And quite possibly complain on one or more of those Internet complaint sites or "Yelp" about what I saw, so that a lot of people will see it.

I have known servers, who dont wash their hands in the bathroom because they are ALWAYS washing their hands and therefore it dries them out, so they use "Dial" waterless hand cleanser OR they use the one in the kitchen when they go back in....

I probably wouldn't say anything at the time. I might write a letter later. That's what we do here * smile *

Disappointed....report to the manager that they need to review good health standards, and measures each and every waiter, waitress, cook, anyone handling food, should take....wash hands!

Seinfeld reference? I don't think I would notice, but if I did, I would be somewhat enthralled and tell everyone at my table. Would I eat that food? Well, it's not like you wipe yourself with your hands, but I might be less hungry. Or, I could assume that somehow, I was wrong or that the server was going to use hand sanitizer or something.

No, not a Seinfeld reference. It's just that I have worked in a lot of restaurants and in several of them I have noted waiters not washing their hands after using the restroom.

I would go to the manager and/or the checkout counter, tell them what happened and tell them I will never eat at their establishment again. When I got home I would then call the local county health board or resturant code enforcement inspector and file a report. (Note: In many States it is the Law that all employees must wash their hands before returning to work after any visit to the washroom, regardless if they changed the paper roll or used the facilities) Finally on a sidebar, I have encountered EXACTLY this very scenario at big chain fast food resturants, specifically at Taco Bell and Frendly's over the past year or so. I called their corporate office. Sadly the customer service person on the other end of the phone sounded like they had the brain of a lungfish and just as much concern. Typical half-ass customer service rep staffed by morons who must read from a script. That's why I don't eat at Taco Bell or Friendly's anymore. (Taco Bell is owned by Yum Brands a division of the Pepsi Bottling Co.)

If it was my witress I might say something. This actually did happen to me once, I kinda freaked but she wasn't our waitress. I'm sure I was far away from home so it isn't a place I freuent.
I tend to not say stuff and I want to, like going into the washroom and there isn't any soap. I want to ask the manager how the staff can wash their hands.

The guy at the pizza place had his hand down the back of his pants scratching his butt and than continued to make the sandwich. Would you tell everyone in town about it?
We did.

I assume the waitress is in the can with me?

I'm not really one to cause a scene or speak up. I'd likely not return.... and I might send a letter or email later point out that fact.

Wouldn't bother me...heck I have seen what goes on in kitchens and still eat out.... If most of you knew what went on where they prepare your food you would NEVER eat outside your home again...

I would write a note with a good size tip maybe explaining that it could cost her / his job and it is feeling a little "careless" though the service was great. That way there is no confrontation and she / he is not in trouble with the management and gets another chance to make a better choice.

I would just make a note to avoid that place for future reference. I wouldn't bother with going to the manager or anything like that. And besides, a little bit of germs (in moderation) is actually good for your immune system anyway.
