Put money in savings for important stuff like a home of your own; don't buy expensive recreational drugs; don't start smoking tobacco and if you already are, quit; don't have a kid unless you've really thought it out and know you can afford it and really want them.

Only go to college if you're ready and want to go. Major in something you love, but try to pick up some practical skills along the way. If you go into debt, let it be to pay for your education, not to buy another pair of Seven for All Mankind jeans. Have fun. Enjoy your youth.

Don't give up. Hang in there.
Be brave with yourself.
Be loyal.
Develop a personal philosophy, really think about it and tune it up as you go along.
Have values and rely on those values to guide you in all things.
Keep things simple.
Don't buy stuff you can't afford.
Be honest with yourself and everyone else as much as possible.
Try to see things from other people's point of view.
Be compassionate yet firm.
Take the road less traveled, it will be hard but it will make all the difference.

There are some good replys here, thank you. The reason I wrote this is that my son is graduating this year and I needed some inspiration. He saved a page in his yearbook for me to write something in.

Do what you love for your career, and hopefully it will pay well too.

Do not choose a mate based on sexual attraction. It doesn't last.

Save early for your senior years

So, do you feel a little sad that your high school days are over. I can tell that my son is happy, no more homework!! But he is a little sad to leave.

Oh yeah, it is extremely bittersweet..and I am freaked out about graduating in general. I hope my friends and I stay in contact..at least through college when everyone still comes home. Although I guess it's not too bad because I'm one of only a few of my friends that is staying here for college.

That most of the crap you learned in High School is just that...crap. Secondly, to bend over, grab their ankles and kiss their butts goodbye because their future is going to suck because the Democrats have them in servitude and their paychecks for the next half of a century is owed to the government... they are the new serfs...

Ok, she had just made a big deal about making a speech at a graduation in New Orleans - the timing was rather coincidental * smile *
