| LindaH | posted 21-May-2009 11:29am Too many things! I go about tasks in such a hurry that on occasion I break things. I've had to train myself not to be that way while driving, though. Don't want to be rough on the car. |
| bill | posted 21-May-2009 1:54pm This keeps coming to mind: "You were a little rough on the Beaver last night." (supposedly from "Leave it to Beaver" (old TV show))

| bill | posted 21-May-2009 2:00pm I think I tend to be overly careful with most stuff, so it's hard to answer. I have messed up some outside tools... like a pair of branch cutters and a sickle-like thing for cutting rough grass.
Oh, the "rough cut" mower we use to mow the field takes a beating. There isn't much I can do about that. Well, I just run it over everything (rocks, ditches, small trees, etc.), so that qualifies. It has one 4 foot blade under it and it's all bent and dinged up really bad. It used to have a kill switch thing on a string, but it kept getting pulled out, so I removed it. Also, the throttle control got bent, so I have some vice-grips holding it in the high position. Also, the snow plow I use on the same ATV that pulls the rough cut mower is also beat up really badly. It used to have a metal plate on the bottom edge, but bolts came off then the plate was gone (never found it and it was 4 foot, 1/2 thick steel). Since then, it has been fine. The bottom has kind of smoothed itself off. Plowing is pretty rough on the dirt driveway. I got faster than I'm suppose to as well. But, it's the best way to throw the snow. |

| cloudhugger | (reply to bill) posted 22-May-2009 9:16am That quote usually shows up innappropreately. How refreshing to hear it in a non risque sentence.
It was non risque, wasn't it? |

Don't be too hard on yourself here, those are tough jobs and a tough tool will get banged up. The trick is getting banged up and still doing a good job means you bought a good tool. |

I lose them more than break them. I have to re-buy them all the darn time. I forgot about the interior of the car...mine is all that and more. It is a SUV, so I haul all kinds of nastys sometimes. |

Gee, Bill, for a married man you sure are saucy on this particular survey. Go, man! :o) |

I'm really intense like that. |
| they | (reply to bill) posted 25-May-2009 9:52am > like a pair of branch cutters Ooooh. The giant scissor-like things that look like a lock/bolt cutter? My dad has a set of those and they are awesome. They cut ANYTHING.... I used them to cut down a few junk bushes before digging out the roots... I also used them for clipping the wire fence that I ripped out. |

| bill | (reply to they) posted 25-May-2009 2:46pm Yup... we have 2 now... the one I ruined by cutting thick wire with (it has notches in it now) and a new pair that Jen uses and I don't touch. We have bolt cutters too, which are even more awesome, but just for metal (well, bolts). Jen has a lot of great tools that I don't even know much about... |
