I assume that you meant to ask if we agreed with the quote, as in do we think the quote reflects truth.

No. We are who we really are, in the here and now. Not who we think we are or who we used to be. Since who we want to become is a part of who we are now, I'd keep that in there.

But we are who we are because of past experiences.

But we aren't currently who we 'were'. It makes us who we are now. One person.

I did have a bit of trouble with the wording. I had it as "do you agree with this quote?" and I could not because it had already been used as a survey question. The system wouldn't let me. I didn't get a chance to get check on this in qual, it seems it flew through before I could get back to it, otherwise I would have mentioned it there.
I oughta tell bill about this. * wry smile *

I don't agree; unless of course, my three selves could fudge three different women at one time.

What if a person doesn't want to become anything? Does that make them less of a person?

I'm not one to judge.

I meant, in context of the quote. If the quote is true, then people who live for now and don't want to 'become' anything are only 2 people.

I had no idea the system prevented identical questions like that.

I cannot concieve of not thinking about tomorrow. There is a state of being in the moment, but I cannot imagine not being in any kind of state of preparedness ofr the next moment, so I don't know.

"Who we want to become" made me think of long term goals and plans. I was referring to people who'll have none of that.

Think of it as maybe someone looking to be happier in the future. Or more popular, or less popular. Basically, seeing their life as it is now, and looking to improve it. Of course there are some who do not do that, and I am not htinking of them for this survey.

I like it. (I'm going with "yes," although I think it's odd to call a quotation "agreeable.")

Very true... actually think there is a 4th... it should read: "We are always four people at once. Who we were, who we think we are, who we REALLY ARE, and who we want to become."

.... "Who we are now". I'm not Christian but Jesus did say "We are in this world, but not of it". And "Heaven (or is it "this world") has many mansions" or dimensions. So how we experience ourselves changes when we rise up into each realm to finally be "one with God, in how you understand him or her". Wow... that's deep. Where did that come from? (From "Me", my child).

Not possible, since I left the old behind, my thinking about myself constantly changes and I never get to who I want to become because I am always changing. I am only a human "being me" at any particular moment in time.

I only know one who is three at once, God the father, son and holy spirit.
