No. Cigarettes are bad for you, are a drain on your money and make you smell bad. People who smoke are silly!

No. Tobacco smoke bothers me to even sniff it in passing and since there's so much about secondhand smoke being harmful to nonsmokers, I try my best to avoid being around it.

I've never tried one. If my exams weren't over in two days, I might have to take them up... Smoking/drinking/drugs all look rather appealing right now.

But I think I'll settle for a celebratory tub of ice-cream and a trip to see Star Trek. Come on Thursday!

Forget the cigs, hon. I took 'em up when I was 15 and have been regretting it since I was 17. It's not that they're hard to give up. It is remarkably easy to give up nicotine. I've done it a thousand times. (Mark Twain) Yeh.

Drinking is fine in moderation. I enjoy getting a mellow glow now and again, but I do not enjoy being really drunk. So I don't drink that much. A couple of drinks when I am in the mood and I'm happy.

As for drugs, well, depends on which ones and what for. If you're looking for an escape, opiates and downers are the ticket. Maybe speed or coke if you're looking for an escape and actually want to do something. Don't buy the crap that all drugs are all about escape though. If you're looking to "escape reality" and turn to the psychedelics, you've taken a wrong turn and are headed for disaster. Most people looking to "escape from reality" are trying to escape from themselves. And the psychedelics have this nasty habit of turning the world around you into a huge mirror. If you are into meditation and really do want to learn something about yourself, then psychedelics are just the ticket.

I've had sleep, lunch out, chocolate and Star Trek. I think that will do me for now.

That's cool.

Star Trek...the original series? Hammy acting and sappy scripts notwithstanding, that is still my fave. * smile *

Star Trek the latest film - possibly a disappointment if you are a real Trek fan, but entertaining fluff if you've just walked out on an exam.

Walked out? Hope that doesn't mean what it sounds like it does.

Ah well, if you do decide to switch from a medical career, you would likely have a brilliant career as an editor. * smile *
