| dab | posted 10-Apr-2009 9:25am It's a natural part of human nature and teachers should expect it. Doesn't mean teachers should give into it, but they shouldn't be too surprised. |
| Lahdee | posted 10-Apr-2009 9:57am I don't think it's limited to seniors. My kids are always more lax in spring. I think by then they are sick of schoolwork. |
| LindaH | posted 10-Apr-2009 10:42am I wouldn't know. I had this affliction all through high school. |
| Enheduanna | posted 10-Apr-2009 11:26am I think it's fine. They deserve it. |
| Cain | posted 10-Apr-2009 12:01pm I believe I experienced something like this. In my last year at school I was just entirely fed up with it all and was counting the days until I could move on. I wish someone had given me a bloody good talking to, becasue I didn't do as well in my final exams as I should have, but then no-one else seemed to give a crap either. As it turned out, I still got into uni and did a good job there. |
| Jody | posted 10-Apr-2009 12:53pm I think it's something that happens frequently to seniors. I'm not sure much can be done about it. |
| Biggles | posted 10-Apr-2009 6:02pm We get the opposite happening here - people nearing the end of the school or university year seem to suddenly start cramming madly away in the hope that they can make up for earlier laziness.
It's a bank holiday and my uni is on Easter vacation, but the library was pretty busy most of the time I was there. I was disturbed by all the abandoned piles of books that had clearly been left by medical students in my year. There is some crazy revision going on. |
| llamamama | posted 10-Apr-2009 7:21pm I've had senioritis for 6 years now.
I think school work is ridiculous. |

| LindaH | (reply to Cain) posted 11-Apr-2009 9:37pm I got horrible grades in high school and excellent grades in college. I hated high school. |
| Cain | (reply to LindaH) posted 12-Apr-2009 7:10am I loved the freedom of uni - a 9-5 routine has never suited me and being responsible for my own workload meant I could spend 36 hours on the trot doing essays and revision, and then do whatever the hell I wanted for the rest of the week. Wish I could still do it now! |
| LindaH | (reply to Cain) posted 12-Apr-2009 10:41am I liked that too. I also liked the atmosphere. I think mature teens should be allowed to go to uni type of high schools and be treated like adults. |

| FauxLo | posted 15-Apr-2009 4:10pm I had Senioritis in my Junior year. It's like running in a marathon -- as you get close to the finish line, it's okay to slow down because it's not about winning. It's about finishing the course. |

| cloudhugger | posted 16-Apr-2009 7:16pm It's too small a moment in time in a persons life to put so much energy into it and thinking about. |
| they | posted 19-Apr-2009 9:42am My "senioritis" was directly connected to marijuana and alcohol.
Maybe someone should have a look at that. |
