| kirst | posted 7-Apr-2009 11:04pm More than once...it's a lot easier to be successful with a regular (household) toilet. Marine toilets tend to be more fragile. |

| bill | posted 8-Apr-2009 6:32am we've never had to call a plumber for a blocked toilet... I think we have had cases that took hours to resolve, though |

| LindaH | posted 8-Apr-2009 12:45pm Many times with the old toilet. We recently got a new one and haven't had to unclog it. It's pretty much clog proof. You flush it, and it's none of this wimpy little swirl stuff. It's got this Niagara falls thing goin' on. |

That has happened to me a time or two also. I've been trying to free up our upstairs toilet for the half the day so far today. I'll get there. BTW, we have the same birthday... |

I can think of one time when I wasn't. I wound up calling in a plumber and he got his snake caught in the toilet. We removed the toilet from the floor and it still wouldn't come out so we had to hit it with a sledgehammer. It turned out that there was a small piece of concrete, about the size of an apple and a very small bottle of dish soap in there. The snake went right through the plastic bottle and then tangled up with the concrete. There was no way that was coming out. This happened at work, when I was in property management. It was in the mens room on a floor that had recently been demolished and a large engineering firm took over the entire floor and remodeled it. I suspect this happened during the construction phase. |
