While growing up did you ever get your temperature taken in your bottom?

However, this is fairly common practice with babies so I imagine there's a good chance it was done on various occasions when I was taken to see my GP. I also had osteomyelitis as a baby (nasty bone infection - very serious in kids) and I'm sure I must have had a rectal temperature taken frequently then. Taking the temperature in the ear is increasingly popular now, but I don't think it was used much when I was young, and I'm not sure about very young children either. I haven't done any Paeds yet.
smurf	posted 16-Mar-2009 11:48pm Not that I can remember, altho it probably happened when I was a baby. When I was 11 or 12 I had to have a big pill thing put up my butt tho - Mum and Dad waited until I was asleep (at least they thought I was asleep!) then put it in. Ew!
