| Crayons | posted 2-Mar-2009 10:45pm Well, since I plan to study psychology, I was thinking about this.
No question that I think people have every right to be homosexual and do whatever they want as long as nobody is getting hurt. But there if disorder is defined as irregularity, and to be homosexual is irregular, is it a disorder? I don't think it's worth the trouble to try to fix it, though. We have other things to spend our time and money on. I don't mean disorder like a bad thing. Why do disorders have to be bad? I think people with Down's Syndrome might be happier than I am. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 2-Mar-2009 10:50pm No homosexuality is not a disorder and this sounds like more bashing by those loony zealots gee get a life |

| cantilever | posted 3-Mar-2009 5:10am No, I'm very well ordered! |
| Melf | posted 3-Mar-2009 5:15am Nah. I just watched Milk yesterday, an' all, so I'm feeling all empowered about it. |
| Melf | (reply to Crayons) posted 3-Mar-2009 5:16am Just because all disorders are irregularities, it does not necessarily follow that all irregularities are disorders. |
| bill | posted 3-Mar-2009 5:32am No, but you might get me to say it's an abnormality. "disorder" has too much of a negative implication for me (implying that something is wrong). |
| jettles | posted 3-Mar-2009 5:45am no |
| they | posted 3-Mar-2009 7:02am I think we all have a very wide range of hormone levels.
Homosexuality can be on a sliding scale. If I thought it was a disorder, I might think the same of large noses and small penises. We are all different - and that is awesome. |
| cerealkiller | posted 3-Mar-2009 2:36pm I think as bill sorta said it is a physiological abnormality, assuming heterosexuality is biologically normal. I don't believe it's a choice. I think it's something internal in the brain. Not saying I'm against homosexuality.
I think those who are "bi" are overly into self-gratification who will take what they can get from anyone |
| Crayons | (reply to Melf) posted 3-Mar-2009 3:19pm That's possible. Words are just words. |
| Enheduanna | posted 5-Mar-2009 8:06am No. |
| Wicksy | posted 5-Mar-2009 3:44pm Only as much as hetrosexuality |
| Iseult | posted 6-Mar-2009 10:54am No. It's just ... preference. I know it goes much deeper than that. |
| Cain | posted 7-Mar-2009 5:49pm Yes and no. If it's true that a creature's primary goal in life is to procreate and carry on the genetic line, then with homosexuals not having this ability, it leads me to believe something is different in their brains, something has gone awry.
However, given that gay couples have several other options to become parents now, that point is essentially defunct. Maybe nature got it wrong, but more likely society and culture just took a while to get to what nature had planned all along? Some of the healthiest and happiest kids I know were raised by gay parents. |
| Biggles | posted 16-Mar-2009 9:35pm I'm not sure what the technical definition of a "disorder" is but it implies a negative judgement, so I'll say no. |
| VanillagirlDee | posted 20-Mar-2009 1:31pm I do believe that they are born like that. |
