How many dogs' lives are worth one human life?

Suppose you can save only one: either one random human being or X number of random dogs. These are random dogs in animal shelters, not anyone's pet, and the one person in question is a homeless guy with no known family or close friends.

If you could only save one, the human being or so many dogs, what would be the tipping point where their lives are worth about the same.

VotesAnswer
2Less than one-- I value a dog's life more than a human being's
31-- A dog's life is worth as much as a human being.

No number of dogs will ever equal one human life. I hate dogs, kill them all and see if I care.

I would say roughly 101 to 200? Off course I care about people more than dogs, but only up to some point. I wonder what other people will say.

All life is equally valuable but as a human I would save a human life first and or a dogs life not by compareing the relative value but by how sucessful I would be be saving "a" life.

My point is that you're a hypocrite.

so because I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I am expected to believe everything they tell me to believe? Sure I admit the act of harming animals is wrong, but did I ever say I wanted to harm them? No... i just wouldn't care if they were.

So not caring about other lives is part your belief?

I'm not sure what you are implying by "other lives". If by "other" you mean animals, then yes I don't care about them and that is my belief (not my churches). I don't believe animals should be put on the same plane as mankind.
