| LindaH | posted 8-Feb-2009 11:59am I don't think it makes the man look bad. I think the stereotype of the man fumbling for the right words so as not to offend the woman makes women look hyper emotional and over-reacting. Guy afraid of woman's wrath. That says more about the woman than the man. |
| Enheduanna | posted 8-Feb-2009 1:00pm I think Mark Rudov is a moron and I pity anyone who takes relationship advice from him. |
| Enheduanna | (reply to LindaH) posted 8-Feb-2009 1:00pm I totally agree. |
| longhaultrucker | posted 8-Feb-2009 1:21pm I think it's funny |
| southernyankee | posted 8-Feb-2009 1:33pm This ad isn't any worse than ads in general. |
| kirst | posted 8-Feb-2009 2:49pm I don't find this ad offensive. I find it annoying and stupid. It does not make me want to buy Cheerios. The woman is annoying and the man is socially inept. You would NEVER ask someone if they were trying to lose weight. From the video the person that I find most ridiculous is that dipcrap guy who is complaining about men looking weak and stupid. Way too much time on your hands, buddy! |
| Joanne | posted 8-Feb-2009 3:18pm I laughed. Used to be women would be offended by her doginess toward him. Now men are bothered by his backing down?! Hmmm. |
| jzp | posted 8-Feb-2009 3:30pm Yawn. |
| Crayons | posted 8-Feb-2009 3:40pm Well, I don't think the guy who was offended by it had a reason to be so offended. I agree with him though, that men are portrayed as stupid too much, but I don't think this commercial was an example of that.
The guy was being submissive, but for a perfectly good reason. To say that to a woman was suicide. |
| Biggles | posted 8-Feb-2009 4:00pm I don't think it's offensive. I don't think it makes the man look stupid, and even if it did, it wouldn't be making him appear stupid *because* of his gender. |

| LJD | posted 9-Feb-2009 3:40am I do...I feel the last 50 years, the enemy within have wanted to usurp men's headship of the family, they want to destroy the family. And some women blindly have been sucked into it. |
| icurok | posted 9-Feb-2009 5:13am It must be a slow news week if this is what Papa Bear is angry about.
This particular advert is fairly tame compared to some I've seen which portray men as a bumbling buffoon. But then the reason why advertisers portray men in this way is because they're flogging products which are bought by women. Compare and contrast men in adverts for breakfast cereal with men in adverts for disposable razors. |
| Matty | posted 9-Feb-2009 8:02am I agree that guy is kind of a wussie. But offended? That seems to be quite the overreaction. |
| DublinThinker | posted 9-Feb-2009 9:11am I find most commercials as silly and they usually pit man vs woman or minority vs white person. I'm not really offended - just tired of the same b.s. of making the white male look like an idiot. |
| Cain | posted 9-Feb-2009 9:39am Who on earth would find that offensive? |

| cloudhugger | posted 9-Feb-2009 11:18am I am a female and I do not find this advertisement offensive
I find the woman to be a hyper-sensitive stereotype and a dog to her husband. It would have been funnier to me if at the end she admitted she said those things to watch her man squirm. And than a good time would have been had by all. |

| Iseult | posted 9-Feb-2009 5:51pm I don't find this commercial any worse than most other commercials out there. I find it's been a recent trend that commercials are belittling to men. Anywhere from men being hit, or told off, or outsmarted by women, it's been going on for a while.
Do I personally find this commercial offensive? No. |
| llamamama | posted 9-Feb-2009 7:15pm Um, no...
I was thinking it was that other comercial.. I do think the people are ugly though. |
| Zang | posted 10-Feb-2009 1:21am Advertising is inherently offensive. |
| bill | posted 10-Feb-2009 5:44am I agree with LindaH and Zang, and I just want to add that I'd rather claw my own eyes out than listen to Bill O'Reilly. |
| docgbrown | posted 11-Feb-2009 3:08am I am a male and I find this advertisement annoying. |
