| dab | posted 6-Feb-2009 11:13pm I'm not sure "qualified" is the right word but they sure do seem to make poor decisions. The Republicans decisions are almost as bad as the Democrats. And the worst decisions of all have to be those of the voters who keep putting the same incompetents back into power, election after election. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 6-Feb-2009 11:32pm Republicans want to sink the ship and they are putting up all the roadblocks on President Barack Obama and acting
like Obama is not our President oh Republicans want it their way and their way only they are the President not Obama Soo happy i have become a Democrat sick of the Republican party had it with them |
| Frostbrand | posted 7-Feb-2009 12:00am Haven't they pretty much proven that multiple times over the past 100 years? Outside of Eisenhower, I can't think of one (in terms of leadership roles anyway; President, Governenor, etc.) that's been worth a damn. I will be fair and say that Republicans seem to do okay as mayors though. |

Gee coffee time and welcome here to the biggest party online |
| LJD | posted 7-Feb-2009 2:21am I belong to our county's Central committee for the Republican party. We are going to reform the presently infiltrated by leftists, called RINO's (Republicans In Name Only). We have the platform of LESS GOVERNMENT, LESS TAXES, RESPONSIBLE FISCAL POLICY, INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY. In the June 3 election, we took many seats, over the liberals in the committee. We lead three districts in five. The liberal Republicans were not happy about it. The party sued us, took us to court, did not want us seated. We were voted into office by the voters, and they wanted to stop it. Well the judge favored our side...we won. The suit has been appealed, but we've already been seated. Socialists or liberals, have infiltrated the Democratic party, as well as the Republican party, but the least problematic party was the Republican. Hopefully we hope to help rebuild a responsible party as it was intended. I never realized how mean politics can be.
A page from History: Norman Mattoon Thomas (November 20, 1884 – December 19, 1968) was a leading American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America. The Socialist Party candidate for President of the US, Norman Thomas, said this in a 1944 speech: "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform." *** "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." ~~Margaret Thatcher |
| they | posted 7-Feb-2009 8:46am This question is a trick.
Not only is it worded in a way that makes you wonder if clicking "yes" or "no" is the way to go... but making a blanket statement about all republicans is ignorant. |
| Enheduanna | posted 7-Feb-2009 9:11am Not inherently, by virtue of being Republicans. I personally don't think they do a very good job of it, but that's because I disagree with their policies. They actually manage to implement their policies fairly effectively, which indicates that they're qualified enough to run the government. I will say, however, that I don't think George W. Bush, as an individual example and who happens to be a Republican, was qualified to be President. |

| Joanne | posted 7-Feb-2009 1:12pm Well, lets see . . . we'll add up all the years of experience of the members of all the parties and let the party with the biggest number run the country. Easier than getting out to the polls. |
| FauxLo | posted 7-Feb-2009 2:49pm It's not that I think Republicans are not qualified enough to run the U.S. It's that they do a poorer job at doing it than Democrats (or anyone else, I imagine). They get the job done, but at what cost? Trillions of dollars, enslaving future generations to clean up the mess of this irresponsible, careless, selfish, thoughtless generation. |
| longhaultrucker | posted 8-Feb-2009 3:48pm democrats and stupid arm waving hippie fudgeen enviromentalist flag waving hippe liberals arent qualified enough, look at Obama "the magic negro" the "messiah" |

| southernyankee | posted 8-Feb-2009 11:51pm Well, considering that roughly 50% of all Senators, Congressmen, Presidents were Republicans, I would say they are. If as many as half your leaders weren't qualified to run a government, that country wouldn't last too long. |
| Matty | posted 9-Feb-2009 8:13am Qualified is a bad word choice. Having said that, I would add that the GOP just doesn't get it right now. I think they will have to get their asses kicked a few more times before they wake up and change their tune. Only then can the GOP become a party that offers a viable choice to the Democrats.
Wow, that's scarey. The only thing more retarded than a Democrat is a Republican right now. Heaven help us; people are just too fudging stupid. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 9-Feb-2009 8:52am Something else.
There are democrat republicans and republican democrats. I wish we would get rid of the party system so we could examine candidates by their own actual virtues. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to southernyankee) posted 9-Feb-2009 9:03am The way our system is set up, it's always going to be 50/50. Each party wants to shift their position just enough to have a chance at winning without compromising their core ideology. If our country was suddenly over-run by Australians, both parties would have additional elements which appealed particularly to one side of Australian culture or another. If we became a democratic communist nation, there'd be republican communists and democrat communists. |
| dilfreak | posted 11-Feb-2009 2:06am yes of course they are qualified. Dumb question. |
| JohnCD | posted 5-Mar-2009 9:29pm Yes, the Republicans are definitely qualified to run this country. They are hardly perfect, but are definitely the least of the two evils. |
| Frostbrand | (reply to JohnCD) posted 5-Mar-2009 9:39pm > Yes, the Republicans are definitely qualified

Why do we still have Republicans anyway? I know we have a bad habit of rewarding failure in the U.S. but even William Hung went away after awhile. |

But I think anyone who is going to run the US using religion is unqualified. I want to see more separation of church and state.
I don't think just because someone disagrees with me means they're unqualified. I might think they're unqualified, but it's not as though it's true.
Well... I guess when you vote, it's kind of like you are deciding if you think someone is qualified or not.
