| they | posted 6-Feb-2009 7:03am Four is the maximum for me. I had 5, but one moved out with the ex. Five was too many. My sister has twice as much space than me, with 5 cats and it still seems like too many.

| bill | posted 6-Feb-2009 7:09am I used to think 2 was the best number, but I now think 1 would be better. I'm actually looking forward to a period of zero cats at some point in my future. |
| Enheduanna | posted 6-Feb-2009 7:49am However many you can take care of responsibly. |
| jettles | posted 6-Feb-2009 8:12am depends on the house size and whether they are indoor or outdoor or both................. i can't decide that for someone else. for me, 3 is slightly over the top! we are at cat maximum capacity(CMC). |

| dpurdy33 | posted 6-Feb-2009 11:00am Believe me my family is not ready for another Jughead |
| Biggles | posted 6-Feb-2009 12:03pm As many as you are capable of looking after properly and want. |
| FauxLo | posted 6-Feb-2009 1:48pm I think two should be a required number of cats to own, if you're going to own any. |
| cerealkiller | posted 6-Feb-2009 2:00pm You mean 1,2,3,4, 5 or more DOZEN, right?
I think the limit is when you reach a point where you can't afford to care for them properly (nutrition, medications, etc.) or when it becomes overwhelming with them controlling your whole life, destroying your house and causing you too much work and stress. |
| Iseult | posted 6-Feb-2009 2:35pm Depends on the person.
For me, zero. I don't like cats, never did. I'd rather have a dog. |
| cloudhugger | posted 6-Feb-2009 3:59pm It's fun collecting cats. |
| Crayons | posted 6-Feb-2009 6:07pm I've never had a cat. I have never even really played with a cat. I have played with many dogs. Cats are really always in the house, while dogs can be taken places with their owners.
I want a cat one day. They are alien to me. The way I see them in videos, squeezing and jumping.. I wonder if they even have bones in their bodies. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 6-Feb-2009 11:05pm 10 cats are enough for me just had more babies 3 kittens are under my couch and gee we are getting knocked off
