| RainingFeathers | posted 31-Jan-2009 11:34pm No. There's a huge shortage of people working in my field, many centres are hiring right now (as they always are). |
| llamamama | posted 31-Jan-2009 11:45pm I'm afraid I won't be able to get a job!!!
My parents won't lose their jobs though..My dad is a teacher..so..always need those..Although they are doing budget cuts and he's the new guy..but we're not worried..And my mom won't lose her's because they already don't have enough people doing her job..And if they got rid of her..doctor's would have to stop taking samples of people's waste matter.. |

Go ahead and just Retire ? |
| llamamama | (reply to JessicaWoman99) posted 31-Jan-2009 11:46pm I think I'm a little too young. |

Yea you might be hehe maybe in 50 more years you can |
| llamamama | (reply to JessicaWoman99) posted 1-Feb-2009 12:05am Yeah, sounds like a plan. |
| Galomorro | posted 1-Feb-2009 12:18am No because I don't have a job. If I did have one, I would be. |
| Frostbrand | posted 1-Feb-2009 12:42am A little. I'm already getting my hours cut back. |
| cloudhugger | posted 1-Feb-2009 2:10am No. I am not afraid. I am self employed. My SO is working. If my SO cannot work then we will talk about fear. |
| longhaultrucker | posted 1-Feb-2009 5:06am Already lost a job based on this f**d economy |
| Enheduanna | posted 1-Feb-2009 8:20am Yes, since I have only a one-year appointment and I might not be able to find another position. (So it's not so much that I'd lose my job as that I'd end up unemployed at the end of it.) I'm also worried that my SO could lose his job. |
| Otter | posted 1-Feb-2009 8:41am My company is facing tough times, we could be out of business at any time. |
| Iseult | (reply to RainingFeathers) posted 1-Feb-2009 9:25am Let me guess, you`re a nurse? |
| they | posted 1-Feb-2009 9:55am No. I think that my company already realizes it made a big mistake in outsourcing half it's workforce, and realizes the importance of keeping my job here in the US. Also, we are in the middle of a huge new ad campaign to bring in new business... and I am the first step to bringing that in.
I do have some concern for my job, because a new facility is being built right now about 50 miles away for other aspects of the business. It has occurred to me that there could be secret plans to eventually move my job to that location. In my experience, big corporations like to play secret mind games like that with it's peons. If so, I'd possibly have to find something new. |
| Cain | posted 1-Feb-2009 10:23am Nope. Lucky me. |
| RainingFeathers | (reply to Iseult) posted 1-Feb-2009 11:43am Nope, child care worker. Though I'm sure nurses aren't afraid of losing any jobs right now either. |
| LindaH | posted 1-Feb-2009 12:15pm I'm an at-home mom. How much more secure can you get than that?
My husband works for the state of Alaska department of revenue. I'm not worried about him losing that job. They want to promote him 6 months early, because he's so awesome. |
| Biggles | posted 1-Feb-2009 12:48pm I don't have a job. |
| paulyw | posted 1-Feb-2009 6:47pm I was not hired at the new cab company, because I was told I totalled 2 cabs, which is a lie. |
| Crayons | posted 1-Feb-2009 9:15pm I don't have a job.
Oh, wait, yes I do. I get paid to write really boring articles on the internet. I call it a job. It is what it is. I doubt I'm going to get laid off, because it's not a "real" job and I'm pretty sure nobody else would waste their time doing it. |
| Iseult | (reply to RainingFeathers) posted 2-Feb-2009 6:46pm Child care worker as in you work in a daycare? |
| RainingFeathers | (reply to Iseult) posted 2-Feb-2009 7:32pm Yes. Maybe not the highest paying job, but definitely one of the most secure. |
| cerealkiller | posted 3-Feb-2009 4:57pm No. My company is growing, hiring, I have more than enough to do. Even if I had nothign to do I'd still be here since they need specialists that can't be found elsewhere. |
| beast666 | posted 4-Feb-2009 10:47am of course not |
| pdeddo | posted 11-Mar-2009 4:41pm already have |
| meowry | posted 29-Mar-2009 9:12pm It's the one pro of having supplemental income without benefits: I will never be fired, and always get my money unless I can prove that I can work and no longer disabled (like that'll happen). |
