That is a difficult question to answer because there have been so many great ideas and inventions throughout history. I think electricity has altered our lives drastically, so I guess I would say the idea to use electricity for light, heat, etc.

First up, I think of language. "cause we're communicating in it. And I'm hungry, so I'm thinking of cooking. Fire. Now I realize I'm typing so the keyboard and the computer are pretty important too. There's lights on and it's warm in here. I'm glad for lightbulbs and furnaces/engines. I'm wearing glasses and clothing. Ummm, drinking coffee, so, beans. Bill had a good idea for this site.
