I'm gonna go with myself, since my name is Suresh. I grew up in Southern Louisiana.

I do have an uncle named Bud Wiser, though.

That's my grandfather's name. I never thought of it as weird or hard to spell.

It's an Indian name. I just looked it up because I was curious. Are you Indian?

No. My mom just met another lady doctor that had it, and she liked it, so I got it.

My mom's name is Ildalis. I've never heard it anywhere else, and I have yet to find out what it means. In fact, I can't really find a lot of results on google for it. I think my grandpa named her. From what I found it's spelled Ildali. My grandfather did used to drink. Hoo, boy.

Erm, none are particularly weird. Probably my daughter, but I would call it unusual rather than weird.

Some of my cousins' wives have unusual names. I think most of the names in my family are pretty normal, even boring, though.

No idea. Seems to me people think anything different is weird. We named our son Iain - told people it was spelled with two i's - we got cards welcoming iian. Just check out a baby book of names and start laughing.

When I was born, my grandma wanted to know if my name (Claire) was going to be spelled in the same way as her aunt (Clare). My mum explained that it was going to have an 'i' in it and every birthday card since then has been addressed to 'Clair', which I never thought was a genuine alternative spelling until my brother got a girlfriend who spells it that way...

'Iian' does seem extra bizarre though * smile *
