No! When I'm sick, the only thing I want is to be left alone, to have some peace and quiet while I recover. I know they mean well, but I can't stand it when people bring me things and try to cheer me up when I'm ill.

I generally like to suffer alone. I think I tend to run "easily embarrassed" and being sick is embarrassing or something. Also, I'm really pretty induhvidualistic and content on my own most of the time. This is likely related to being introverted.

This sort of thing actually came up recently when a friend got sick and I felt fairly conflicted about how I should react, knowing that he's a much more social/extroverted person than me. I had to kind of assume he wanted the opposite of what I would have wanted were I in his position. Though, he was so sick, it was really hard to even imagine what it must have been like for him.

By my wife yes...because I get laid many times during the day.

I don't like when my mother volunteers, because my wife goes into work.

Yes, I like having someone take care of me. They don't have to be constantly by my side, but it's nice if they can get me food, make me tea, and offer me some sympathy.

I was thinking about him in these surveys, too. I wish I could have been at the hospital with him more.

You have sex with your wife multiple times a day when you're sick?

Yeah, I don't get sick very often, but when I do, it's like winning the lottery. Hmmm, I gues the denser part of the question is how do I feel like having sex when I am sick...I am never too sick to not want sex.

I'm glad I got to see him. But, most of the time I was there I felt kind of useless or in the way. A ton of other people came through to visit and it became clear he needed to get some sleep. I barely saw in the 2nd day. * smile * I wish he was closer, so it would be easier to just drop in an out more often.

When I'm sick, I'm not demanding. I don't need people waiting on me. When I used to get sick, I wanted to sleep, drink water, and eat some soup. I like quiet.

I like being left alone, but having people near enough to help me if I need something.

That was indeed the real question! You have quite the libido.

I think mere presence was definitely important to him. I wish I was closer, too--I'm happy to be back in NY so at least now it's not too bad a drive.

Uh, I guess. Understand, I'm not talking about a major illness. I mean a fever, cold, flu, something like that.

It depends on the sickness. If its something that will allow me to sleep, I prefer to be left in peace. If its something I can't sleep through, like backache, I like someone to take care of me. And by that I really only mean make me cups of tea.

Yeah, I guess I take an atypical approach, but sex makes me feel better normally. Why not when I'm sick, too?

It depends. High fevers I prefer someone to be near, I tend to get scared of dying and I don't want to die alone. High fevers make me trippy and hallucinate, I like to have a witness to the goofy crap I say. Intense headaches I need everyone to stay the fudge away. Everything else I really prefer someone nearby and willing to fetch something if I need it. Or make me eat the soup or something.

It depends... sometimes all I want to do is sleep so want to be alone. Although when I had my knee surgery and had trouble walking, it was nice to have a go-fer to fetch things and run errands...

If I were seriously ill, I would want someone to be looking after me. I like knowing that someone is looking out for me when I'm not feeling well, but I don't want to be fussed over. I like little gestures - like someone offering to get me a drink, or doing my washing up * smile *
