No. This is dumb. We aren't equal.

We should each play to our strengths and quit whining about wanting to be equal. The day every woman's vagina falls out of her into the shape of a penis or every man's penis is sucked up into his body to become a vagina will be the day we are equal. And I only say that because it will never happen.

Men and women *are* equal. Whether everyone in the world will ever realize that is another matter.

Equal doesn't have to mean identical/same, though.

They should certainly be equal in pay by now.

I guess if the creator meant "will we someday have the same rights?", I'd say yes.

But with the wording, I felt the need to point out that we are completely different. Women are typically better nurturers, while men are better (physical) providers and protectors. We developed with more patience and love and they developed with more upper body strength... It sometimes bothers me how motivated people are to take us away from these natural instincts. I'm not saying some people don't break the mold. I'm also not saying women should be at home, barefoot and pregnant... but, that IS how nature made us.

Plus, I'm in kind of a nasty mood today.... so the sarcasm is pretty thick.

I completely agree that men and women are, overall and in most cases, quite different. To me, equality means recognizing that these differences should be assigned equal valuations, not wiping these differences out.

i think men and women are equal. we are looked upon differently in society and thus not treated equally............ we all have different qualities and express ourselves differently, men from women and some men from other men and some women from other women. it's what it is

No and they shouldn't be. They are different and so cannot be 'equal' in a lot of ways.

Men and women are different, so I don't think that absolute equality is really something to aim for, but I don't see why ensuring that we have equal access to opportunity is something that shouldn't be achieved in the future.

Will they be treated equally in the areas where it really counts (rights, opportunities, etc)? I sure hope so.

They are already......but the equality is not true in all areas such as equal pay etc. " Equality" is a wonderful concept to strive for but one side or the other will always claim they are not being treated equally.
