How often growing up did you hear your parents say "I love you"?

My dad never said it (much) but showed it by his actions

Not that often, but I always knew how much they loved me anyway.

again i ask, to each other or to me?? i remember hearing them say it to me but not to each other although i knew they loved each other and me!

I don't know. I don't think I heard them say it often, if at all.

To me? My mom: Daily if not more often. My dad: Not sure---don't think he said it at all. Every once in a while now, he'll tell me that (usually after I tell him). I don't talk to him very often, though, and only see him once a year.

As for these options, I will choose "Often" but it only covers my mother's behavior.

To each other? My mom has reported that my father only told her "I love you" three times during the course of their marriage. Once on their wedding day, once when she filed for divorce and I can't recall the circumstances of the third "I love you" declaration. I know it was not after the birth of either of their children.

I found this question to be ambiguous as well.

I don't recall, actually. I don't recall them saying it often, but I never felt insecure about their love for me. I know I make an effort with my children, and grandchildren to always tell them I love them, every time I see, or talk to them. I also tell them I'm proud of them.

Don't know. My mom probably said it but I can't remember.

Hardly ever hear my parents say they love me

I don't know, sometimes... I don't remember very well if or how often they said it, but I felt loved.
I'm not one to equate saying "I love you" a lot with actual love.

Rarely. But they showed me in other ways. So it was fine.

My mom says it to me every morning before she goes to work. I know they both said it to me all the time when I was younger, too.

My mother said it to us often, my father never said it (and has never said it). Never to one another.

My parents still say this to me. I can't complain about my upbringing with respect to my parents' love.

I don't remember. I don't remember my dad saying much, but towards the end, he said it often I'm sure my mother said it, but I don't remember how often. I blocked so much out.

I honestly don't remember hearing it. I'm sure I did -- because I felt loved.
