| cerealkiller | posted 6-Jan-2009 6:33pm I guess that would have to be "Yes" because I have no real three dimensional friends. Just family and work associates. None of them are friends. |
| FauxLo | posted 6-Jan-2009 7:54pm I probably prefer all of my online friends to my real life friends. There's less commitment involved and right now, I can't handle commitment of any kind. (As if I ever could. |
| Frostbrand | posted 6-Jan-2009 9:31pm Yes. |
| Enheduanna | posted 6-Jan-2009 9:34pm Not that I prefer, no. |
| LJD | posted 7-Jan-2009 3:45am I have several online friends... I've known my real life friends for many, many years. I don't think a person really knows a person until you're with them live. |
| Melf | posted 7-Jan-2009 3:46am Eh. |
| bill | posted 7-Jan-2009 5:28am "prefer" is probably not the right word... I don't spend much time thinking about which friends I prefer.
I think for all the people I know ("friends") online, especially if I never met them in person, there's a kind of fantasy aspect to it... I imagine a lot of things (usually positive) about them to fill in the gaps when in reality my picture of them is probably off. But, that doesn't make them better or worse, per se.. just slightly more imaginary, probably more perfect than a real person/friend. I guess you could say that I prefer that sort of friend sometimes, sort of like how I prefer to watch good-looking people on TV. |
| Matty | posted 7-Jan-2009 8:25am No, online friends can only be so close because there's no real contact. |
| Crayons | posted 7-Jan-2009 4:27pm It's a mix. There are online people who I like more than offline people and vice versa. But I've found it easier to find people "like me" online. Offline, I learn to get along with people who are different. |
| Joanne | posted 8-Jan-2009 1:47am I love you guys, hic. |
| llamamama | posted 9-Jan-2009 10:04pm Well..
I really like all of my friends online..I even care about them..If they vanished I'd wonder where they were..But, online friends are missing that extra thing. I've never met them...I've never seen them. I like them and care about them..but it's just a different friendship altogether. |
| cloudhugger | posted 12-Jan-2009 10:46am um....this isn't really comparable to me. |
| cloudhugger | posted 12-Jan-2009 10:47am yes, what Llama said. |
| they | posted 18-Jan-2009 1:44pm Well, a few surveys ago I mentioned a friend at work with a gas problem. Maarten never farts when I *hug* him. |
