What do you take from an ATM first?

Suppose you go up to an ATM and withdraw some cash, and the ATM returns your card, your cash and your receipt all at the same time. Which do you take first?

The card: because it never releases all at the same time, it always releases the card, then has a pause long enough to put it away, then the cash and a pause then the receipt.

I think I'd get the cash first anyhow, but the ones I go to release the cash, then the receipt, and then ask if you want to do anything else before releasing the card.

card - because I've seen machines suck cards back into them. I prefer the machines that only require a swipe and not complete absorption of my card.

In actuality, the machine gives me the cash first and the other two only after I have removed the cash and pushed the button that says that's all I want to do today.

The cash. If cash was anywhere near me, I would grab it as soon as possible. I am still so poor. :(

The receipt, all the while praying to the gods of banking and finance that the balance line says something other than $0.00. (They don't always listen).

The ATMs I use all return them sequentially, so this problem has never arisen for me.

Did you know that some machines also suck the cash back in if you don't grab it within a certain amount of time? Not that I've ever done that of course...*cough*

I have two hands. I'd take the cash and the card at the same time, and then grab the receipt. I haven't used an ATM for many years though.

the 'check-card' has drastically curved my ATM usage, how bout you Suebee?

I had to give up my ATM card. I would never trust myself with a credit card after I saw what happenned to me with just an ATM card.

Actually, I don't even have a check card, magbast. I can cash checks so easily at work that I never need a cash machine. I can write checks for just about anything and everything around town, too, so it's not usually a problem if I do run out of cash.

Cash, then receipt, then card. That's the order that they come out.

Throttle back, Challenger. That was a foreshortened response. The full answer being:

"Cash, then receipt, then card... Even though they have come out simultaneously. That's the order that they come out in my addled, time insensitive mind.

Magbast, man. I must've really pushed your buttons on that grammar thing...

I don't have an ATM card and don't take cash advances from a credit card, but in the flavor of the hypothetical situation I would say the cash.

I think his buttons are just perpetually taped down lately *sheesh*

BTW Magbast, I wasn't playing dumb on the other survey. I knew exactly what the question meant...after I read it 6 times.

People here always critique surveys...You need to separate yourself from your surveys and not take the criticism so personally. If you don't care whether your surveys are understandable, you shouldn't care that people call you on it. Like you said...SFW. If that's your attitude when creating a survey, it should remain your attitude when reading the comments, too. Then you won't get all annoyed and stuff :)

I'm pretty touchy about the possibility of losing my card, having done so in some pretty wicked non-ideal situations. So I always take my card as soon as it's available.
